We have the same vine on the front of our house here. It turns yellow to red in autumn- the depth of colour depends on the temperature of the season. I would love to have it on MFF, but my husband is objecting on the grounds that it has a tendency to grow quickly and cause work damage and work. Bon weekend
oh, my. the thumbnail looked as if some violence had happened there. i'm so glad i trusted you and opened up the image to reveal this red-creeper rather than what i feared i might find.
I'm a sucker for a vine with red leaves...well leaves of any color, really. Spring has arrived in Charleston, SC. Hope you find the same in France! Let the countdown begin!
Spring has come to Indy, too! It's much warmer than usual and many of us are wondering how we're going to pay for it later in the season, but for now, it's great. The magnolia and dogwood trees are blooming, the hibiscus and crocus have sprouted, and birds are all around calling for a mate. Woo hoo!
Jeanne, I think you are right and the vines are in their cycle of living as they move from the reds of autumn and winter and give us hope for a spring to come.
Nicola, thank you for ordering some spring weather for my arrival!
Mary Ann, I wish that you and Alie could join me again and Marie too. That seems forever ago!
Elizabeth, I think that you should find a wall or fence away from the house and just let it run wild. I'll come and take photos in the fall when the leaves are all red!
De la jolie vigne vierge, toute rouge. Vivement le printemps, Genie! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteI love these vines in any season.
