As I headed out on a Sunday morning in November, I encountered a group of scouts selling Calendrier 2012. After a long busy day with my camera, I encountered another group of the Scouts Guides de France wrapping up their day of calendar sales.
The one I bought sits in my office
and reminds me of this group of enthusiastic young people.
(Joyeux anniversaire, Nanette!)

You captured some wonderful expressions.
ReplyDeleteCute little French scouts ;-) Thank you for stopping by tonight, Genie. How are you doing weather wise over there? The news mentioned some pretty strong winds in your neck of the woods... Hope you are all safe and warm. A bientôt. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Genie. As I look at it, I am trying to figure out what would tell me this is Paris and not Minnesota or Oregon. What does the calendar depict?
ReplyDeleteMes enfants ont tous été scouts dans leur enfance. Scout de mer puisque nous vivions à Saint-Tropez.
ReplyDeleteIls ont beaucoup appris.
Une très jolie photo..
gros bisous
toujours prêts !!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful young ones! Reminds me of my teaching days and how I loved every new class each year! Love the expressions you have caught! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteHugs

Enthusiastic young people, indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Genie.
The little boy with the black hat looks like Mme. Sarkozy...
ReplyDeleteCute photo Mme. Genie!
Thank you.
If you were up to one of your stealth shots again only one young person in the photo spied you ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I always end up with way too many calendars - everyone is selling one and I can't say no to folks raising money for worthy causes. Firemen, the mairie, I don't have the heart to say no!
ReplyDeleteI love the color..and the darling subjects..
ReplyDeleteBe sure and stay tuned to the weather over there. Your part of the country has had some scary storms...
Thanks for stopping by yesterday!...Janey
Love the adorable kids and their vibrant uniforms! What a clever idea to use bright orange for their coats so they can be seen easily! Their rapt expressions are wonderful. Well captured, Genie! Bisous ... 3 days and counting ...
ReplyDeleteLove the faces
ReplyDeleteHello Genie, you know I love your blog, always lovely to visit here!Thank you for all that you share. thank you for poppingin on my blog, much appreciated. love Colette
ReplyDeleteSomeone or something really has their full attention Genie, you've caught some lovely expressions here.
ReplyDeleteWhat would help Jack to tell this is Paris? Maybe a little guy in fedora looking straight into camera? Or a little blond beauty standing to the right? Thank you Genie for this cute scene.
ReplyDeleteLove French children. Too bad they have to become French adults.
ReplyDelete"The little guy in the fedora," would probably not be seen in the US unless he were wearing a baseball or knit cap. Otherwise, I think it's being co-ed would tell me its not US. I don't think the two groups have joined up over here.
ReplyDeleteSweet photo, Genie!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have a calendar to remind you of these charming children. :)
xoxo,
- Irina
What a nice diverse group of scouts—and nicely captured by you. The little boy who spied you has style to spare, hasn't he?
ReplyDeleteA lovely picture of the scouts. Their faces are so expressive.
ReplyDeleteLove all the expressions on these cute little faces. The color really makes this photo pop!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! These kids have such sweet faces. Just precious!
ReplyDeleteAh, the cherubs - bises to you and to them,
ReplyDeletexx Sc
Jack, the calendar has a photo of scouts on each page and an attribute such as, "partager." "To Share, It is My Nature" Each quality is followed by the words "C'est ma nature."
ReplyDeleteThe photo I had taken earlier of the five scouts who greeted me in Place Maubert was too posed but showed the variety of colors for the tunics (red, orange, green, blue)
Speedway is right in that you do not see many kids in the USA in fedoras.
Janey, thank you for the weather concerns. On the coast we are fine but Birmingham is suffering again.
There were many parents and sponsors around the kids and there were several parents taking photos of this group. It was obvious that they had spent the day "hawking the calendars" just as the pompiers. I can resist neither!
Bises,
Genie
Well I guess it would be hard to sell GS cookies in Paris with all the wonderful pastries to be had! The calendar sounds like a good idea. Hope they sold more than I have!
