Well, whatever it is, it surely does look interesting!! What a great capture, Genie -- even if it does raise lots of questions!! I love it! If anyone comes up with an answer, I'd love to know what it is!!!
It does have a vibe of wedding veils and bridal bouquets ~ I'm guessing some kind of artistic statement on the subject. I'll bet you were tickled to happen upon this scene with your camera, Genie.
They're all students and the two in plastic are posing for their friend on the left (the photographer). For this photo shoot, they're pretending to be on some sort of modern-day religious pilgrimage, hence the lack of shoes. And why this street? No cars.
Alexa gets the award for the most creative answer, but I think that Paris Paul is correct and Andy is just funny.
I fired off several shots and was there long enough to believe that they were staging the shot but not sure of the interpretation. It was neither windy nor cold that day. So, we will never know for sure, Bibi.
I do love the freedom of expression that one sees in the streets of Paris with artists and photographers using the surroundings to make an artist's statement.
Loved all the theories above, looks like the pair walking up the 'incredibly fantastic Paris street' are just as perplexed as we are! Excellent post Genie.

They are obviously preparing for an invasion of bees or mosquitoes and have cleverly decided to protect themselves!LOL
ReplyDeleteHumm,
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to say...maybe a photo shoot? But why are they wrapped up in netting?
A pair of tourists who don't want their cameras to get wet. Too bad they forgot to poke holes in the plastic for air.
ReplyDeleteI'd say something artistic, not a wedding. The street behind is quite beautyful..
ReplyDeleteprobably an anti-spasmophilia tips...
ReplyDeleteOh, la Butte aux Cailles! J´adore! It´s an artistic statement, I think...
ReplyDeleteWith the lack of shoes and warm clothing like everyone else in the photo... I would say they were doing drugs.

ReplyDeleteAn interesting photo, I think on the way to a photoshoot for some artistic purpose. They have to unwrap their veils later in the wind?
ReplyDeleteI think they're concerned about malaria, and trying to cut down on mosquito exposure.
ReplyDeleteLove Louise's comment... I think it's a photo shoot, and I will always wonder...
ReplyDeleteit's an entanglement, certainly, but i think it has nothing to do with matrimony.
ReplyDeleteI think is has to do with DC-DC matrimony.
ReplyDeleteYou will not be in Paris at the beginning of May, I gather, Genie?
In Paris, one never knows!

Photo intéressante mais je crois qu'il ne s'agit pas d'un mariage... Bises *-*

I'm going for artistic statement. I think a Parisian wedding would be more chic. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a Hen's Night party trick?
ReplyDeleteI notice a roll of more plastic behind them. Could they be trying to stay warm...or dry?
ReplyDeleteA sixty-four dollar question for sure. Love the repetition of the lanterns and the greenery. You and V have both featured some pretty lanterns today.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they see you blog and unveil the mystery!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it was raining, but it doesn't look like it!

ReplyDeleteIt's kind of creepy!
ReplyDeleteA wedding picture is not the first thing that came to mind when I saw this. Strange.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.. very odd! I reckon it's an artistic statement in progress :-)

ReplyDeleteI laughed when I saw this. I think it's as random as anything else. Could possibly be a photo shoot of bubble wrapping? lol
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...I'm perplexed!!!

Bises,
Genie
Takes me back to my college photography class!! That pic has art students written all over it:)
ReplyDeleteThat's so weird!
ReplyDeleteI think they're shooting the next episode of "Dr Who". There's a Darlek just around the corner.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the caption for the photographer's photo is going to be: We're being consumed by plastic! Some sort of eco-statement.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun shot !
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what they're up to...
