When I saw him coming in my direction,
I knew that I would only get one shot... He was FLYING!
So, would a Parisian say this is a scooter, a trottinette, or something else?
Il va travailler à trottinette?
Rue Saint Louis en l'Ile
Ile Saint Louis

I don't know what they would call it Genie but it is wonderful! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteNo, I surely don't know what they would call it, but I love your capture whatever it's called! Fun as always, Genie!

Love his shoes!!! Great photo:)
ReplyDeleteProbably something else, a good work out maybe.
Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteSupurbe candid photo, Genie!
ReplyDelete«Louis» is happy you got that ONE shot!
;-D
Oui, c'est une trottinette. J'en avais une quand j'etais petite, à cette époque c'était reservé aux enfants! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it Genie. Is that a very large man or a very small scooter?
ReplyDeleteWell done Genie. I don't think he even realized you were taking his photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. What can I say more.
ReplyDeleteWe call it a step and it is mostly used by children. A short time we saw adults in the street like your photo, but it didn't last long. I think men felt a bit childish though.
ReplyDeleteGood shot, Genie.
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed a trottinette, in Dutch 'autoped' or 'step', in English 'scooter'.
You see them more and more in the cities like Amsterdam.
I had one in the fifties of the last century, see my blog under the label 'Memory Lane'.
Nowadays they are much smaller....
Regards and have a nice day,
Maria
perhaps he is a little bit peter pan.
ReplyDeleteThe pocket version of a velib? Great action shot! Must be a Parisian .... À demain ma chère amie!
ReplyDeleteWhen I see your header, I remember the nicest day in Paris. Loved
ReplyDeletethe boat cruise. I saw naked sun bathers under the bridge on the rocks. All your images are wonderful.

Trotinette for sure. I always thought these things looked really dangerous with that little wheel in the front. A bigger wheel would absorb more bumps, I think. But I guess then it would look like a kid's scooter.
ReplyDeletegreat shot! can you imagine going to work like this? fun !
ReplyDeleteI'm always surprised when I see an older guy riding one of these.
ReplyDeleteGenie,
ReplyDeleteWhatever you call it, I want one. LOL
Btw: I lost my tail feathers when I turned 60...there is nothing left to shake! LOL LOL
You sure chose your moment perfectly, Genie—what a great shot! Brava!
ReplyDeleteNice one, Genie. You caught him just right. Panning a moving subject is fun. If you didn't get much advance warning, your accomplishment is that much more admirable.
ReplyDeletetrottinette ou patinette. lot of people go to the office with a patinette, and fold it when it rains to take the subway! cleaver, isn't it (but also a little ridiculous)!
ReplyDeleteLe Scootiere!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done to catch him in your view finder as he whizzed past Genie!
ReplyDeleteTrottinette of course. What a great catch. Sometimes adults use them for themselves but sometimes their kids use them when they go to school and when the parents go home they take the trottinette back with them (and use it of course)
ReplyDeleteGreat job!! Looks like you didn't even have to pan the camera -- [1/250, 1/500th sec.??] In German it's a Roller.
