Oh, I'd never have picked this as a Parisian carrousel. But I understand the kids thinking it's pretty schmick! A fun scene, Genie. Bon weekend et bises...
Don't you just love how these cute carrousels pop up all over Paris, in famous and not so well-known neighborhoods? Love how little kids enjoy them on the way home after school, their "goûter" (late afternoon snack) in hand. This beats driving straight home in a car, as my son and I do here every day. Nice and tender photo, Genie. Let me guess what is your favorit caroussel... In front of the Hôtel de Ville? Under the stairs leading to Sacré Coeur? :-) Have a nice weekend Hana de Prague
V - isn't funny how the French seem to love American music, just as we love French music. I just didn't know that they had discovered country music ;) I've heard lots of Louis Armstrong and other classics in various restaurants.
Nor mine (fave, that is), I admit, but I love the photo you captured here. I see motocross in someone's future. Or not—they probably don't do a lot of that in Paris. :~}
Bibi, I have walked those circular steps many times and have photos from my first visit. The last time in Paris, the graffiti had all but destroyed the exquisite murals.
I am glad to see the abundance of carrousels in Paris and I have two favorites (or three). Dodo Manège in Jardin des Plantes, the wedding-cake carrousel in Tuileries, and the double decker in front of Hôtel de Ville.
Today, I am working "beyond" and tomorrow the big bird flies me home.
I know what you mean. I sometimes expect everything in our beautiful Paris to be old worldy and somehow the modern, such as this doesn't fit - I am sure it is joy for the children. x
This one is a bit too contemporary for me. I adore carousels and much prefer the traditional, highly carved pieces. This young man certainly must have had a grand time, tho.
But, oh, such a fun post for the day -- even though I agree with you! Have a beautiful, fun weekend, Genie, mon amie!

Maybe not your favorite, but fun. I love the metro station Abbesses. I'm sure you have walked up its stairs...? Artwork...?
ReplyDeleteOh but you can see by his face that it might be his favourite carrousel Genie, what great rides for children! That 'spidey man' ride is super cool!!
ReplyDeleteOh, to be young again! Much as I prefer traditional carousels this guy looks like he's having a blast.
ReplyDeleteNice capture Genie. Boys seem to be attracted to Spider-Man.

ReplyDeleteI love riding carousels--and I don't care if they're just for children.

A big moto :)
ReplyDeleteNice catch
It is probably fun for the kids, but I am old-fashioned. Give me one with horses and chariots any day.
ReplyDeleteI am totally transported to the feeling that kid is enjoying.

ReplyDeleteTo be a motordevil must be great for a child, it is more exciting than a horse I think...

ReplyDeleteIt's not my favorite one either but it's a great shot!
ReplyDeleteStill cute! And he seems to be enjoying it. :)
