Marché Bastille
Each of the Paris street markets is different with a flavor and personality of its own. Do not assume that because you have seen one market in Paris that you "have seen them all." This bustling area along the Boulevard Richard Lenoir is boisterous and colorful with something for everyone.Marché BastilleBoulevard Richard Lenoir(le dimanche et le jeudi)
Interesant picture.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Oh, what bliss, Genie! The markets are one of the things I love most about Paris. Each one is a marvel.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite as a child was the Sunday Bird Market on l'île de la Cité with the fascinating coloured feathers like jewels. I like this one also because the Genie de la Bastille presides over it from her elegant perch.
ReplyDeleteIt´s funny: In Austria I´m not a big fan of markets, but in Paris I love to explore them.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime l'ambiance des marchés... les blabla des gens... La vue des beaux légumes et des beaux fruits... je suis toujours à l'affût des bons produits du terroir français!
ReplyDeletegros bisous.
Would love to meander through this market and rummage through the treasures.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful day in Paris, Genie.
ReplyDeleteA marche with a view! Love the way the obelisk towers over the stalls. Look up, look down, look anywhere and marvel at all the photographic opportunities! We had such fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite, favorite marché in Paris! Thank you--it sends shivers of delight down my spine.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fascinating place, Genie.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good market. Mary and I caught an art show here as well last summer.
ReplyDeleteWhen you pull this picture right in Genie, you can see many delicious looking food being sold here, so is this what this particular market specializes in?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Paris, my market was Bd Daumesnil. I love the mood that can be found there, very different from southern markets..
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit one of them.
ReplyDeleteLove your capture and the wonderful memories of Paris it evoked! Hope your week is going well, mon amie!

Such a lovely area to walk around afterwards (or beforewards!) as well.
ReplyDeleteBar a harengs????? A cod bar???
ReplyDeleteWhat M said! Before (or after) taking this shot, did you dive right into this wonderful marché?
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of these markets Genie - bustling is the word and with the pretty backdrop of the beautiful Colonne de Juillet. Delightful. xx
ReplyDeleteThe markets sound like so much fun! Wonder if I would find any vintage there? Just the thought of Parisian Vintage makes my heart flutter!
ReplyDeleteI am no expert in Paris markets, Genie, but I am willing to visit some to learn about them. This one looks good.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great market! I think they would all be different but wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI would love to explore them all:)
ReplyDeleteThis market is only held twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Marie and I were fortunate enough to discover it in full swing.
ReplyDeleteIt is large and has a variety of food items which can be eaten on the go. There are flowers and household items and clothing and crafts... I was in need of eyeliner and bought a pencil for 1 Euro.
Marie and I took many photos here of the scene and the interesting people. Although there are tourists here, the Parisians of this area frequent the market for their needs.
Ninny, you would go nuts over vintage and it can be found all over Paris.
Bises,
Genie
Wonderful shot, I love this kind of market!

Hmmm. Would love to spend an afternoon loitering there...
ReplyDeleteI've stayed several times at a hotel near Republique and have bought many a food item at this market....kept cheese on my windowsill until departure...it was fall/winter!
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful and interesting markets around Paris.
