Tell me I'm old-fashioned..BUt I prefer a green one, or a white-with snow one. Orange is " too much halloween"! The joke in your picture is the orange trees under a sign saying Bianco", which means "white"...
The Europeans are always more avant-garde with their holiday decorations. Fun! Wish I were there this year. Have fun (and a café crème or deux) for me? Thank you for bringing a little of Paris in December to me.
I like it in a commercial zone...it's different, has pizazz! But at home, give me a green traditional tree that I can cover with my ornament collection...
I hope you are having a wonderful time!!! Not my taste but I'm OK with it in a commercial establishment. I do think it's funny that the store is called Bianco.
You and V are thinking alike again! I too like these for a "commercial Christmas," but want to come home to my pretty green (if artificial) tree! Hope you're having just the best ol' time!
We just happened by this restaurant the very day I posted and left them with one of my P&B cards. I told them to check out the blog and that the 2009 trees were on the site. Of course, the explanation in French may have had some gaps, but I hope that they check it out. (You do know that I talk to everyone!)
PS, JB the major theme may be purple for 2010, but I have seen more pink and red flocking. Bianco has continued their orange/black theme this year...
Too modern for my taste....out of place, I think, in beautiful Paris...oh, and those orange trees.....!!
ReplyDeleteBibi - we have seen all colors under the rainbow, including a pink palm tree, flocked with pink snow!

Dear Genie
ReplyDeleteIt's a celebration!
They get it!
Enjoy your Christmas in Paris - again, I wish I was there with you.
hugs

We can purchase Elvis, Mickey Mouse or Shrek decorations for the tree... So why not orange Christmas trees? Nice photo.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't attempt this in my home, but here ~ I love it! Happy and safe travels, Genie...
ReplyDeletePut some blue balls on those puppies and you've got yourself an Auburn tree! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I heard a cork pop when I woke up this morning. Don't you dare drink it ALL!
V
PS We've done it again. I have red flocked today but the baby slept late! HA

ReplyDeleteNow that is something you don't see everyday! It does add that touch of color though.
ReplyDeleteVery modern and Paris does that very well!

Bon weekend to all!
The proprietors decided to orrange for something a little different this year.
ReplyDeleteIt is, ah, um, "trendy." I think that word would work.
I think I have that tree! I love it! (of course, I am Miss Halloween)...
