Paris rouge - Macéo

Macéo

This restaurant has a quiet back entrance
framed in red with cherubs on either side of the doorway.

Perhaps a little worse for wear,
the sculptures still make a dramatic presence
on the quiet street behind Palais Royal.

Décomposition et désespoir

2012 Jan HB - IMG_6747

Decay and despair

Overturned tombstones, doors ajar, unkempt grounds...

This desolate cemetery pairs well with the expression on this caryatid

(not Père Lachaise)

Rue des Thermopyles - un rue qui se délabre

a decaying street

This small street outside the normal haunts of tourists
has fallen into ruin but the quiet beauty captured me still

Rue des Thermopyles

The City Daily Photo members are featuring "the beauty of decay"
for theme day this month.  See the other entries here.
