City Daily Photo Theme Day
"Landmark"
Although Paris has many "landmarks" and it was difficult to choose just one,
this photo has my favorite plus a bonus:
la Tour Eiffel and Grand Palais.
With the setting sun of autumn the structures of both are seen in silhouette,
the Eiffel Tower with its familiar pattern of steel,
and the Grand Palais with its glass vault.
Would you believe that there are 6,000 tonnes of steel
in the Nave of the Grand Palais
which is more than in the whole Eiffel Tower?

If there ever was a landmark then it's this. Love how its is bathed in the golden light of the sunset. Perfect! Visiting you from City Daily Photo today.

Of course! :-)
Tower Eiffel is not for being conquered by our feet; but to be elevated as human by being conquered by her beauty.
Simplicity, the golden t(p)ower of beauty in black dress.
Superb photo, it rewards each step of those 20,000 a day.
No word to measure my enjoyment.
Many many thanks Genie, GBY.

Perfect! will be the comment for your post by most viewers. Icons of Paris!! Splendid photo.
Wonderful image of this iconic structure. Paris... what else would one choose?
A stunningly beautiful image!
This is fabulous, Genie -- one of the most glorious of all your posts and certainly of the Tour.
Wow. Nice shot. From the top of Galleries Lafayette with a telephoto?
A glorious image, a perfect moment, and a wonderful memory—merci!
So wonderful, Genie!
Fascinating post and information.
Bon dimanche, Génie!
I thought that Monsieur Effel's triumph would find its way into your landmark post. Your portrayal is excellent, with a bonus landmark as well.
Beautiful picture. Love the silhouettes.
This is certainly The Paris landmark. Yesterday afternoon I took a very touristy but always divine river cruise, and was treated to very similar sights. It is breathtaking.
Gosh! That is a stunning photo Genie. Perfect composition captured at just the right time of dusk.
