Métro République

Métro Station République

So many of the platforms are changing with  "improvements" so it is said.
This station opened on October 19, 1904 as part of the first section of line 3.

The glass walls that are being added certainly contribute to the safety of the passengers,
but I prefer to see the seats, the signs, and even the "framed" posters as they are,
unobstructed by the barriers to the tracks.

Where are you headed this weekend?
I am flying away to a petite birthday party!

Very bold and bright and Republique Genie. Enjoy the party.

Seriously bright and cheery -- but it seems out of place!

Have a glorious birthday celebration and safe travels, Genie. I'm headed to our Cork Poppers gathering, hoping for a good weather and a boat ride with it. We're doing wines of Bordeaux this times, so check out the post soon on the Gypsy!

I guess the barriers have to do with the notion of anyone being jostled onto the tracks? Very colourful!

I agree with you Genie. Sometimes change takes away charm.

Have a good trip and snap a few Paris reflections for me. :-)

The best I can say for these "improved" stations is that they're colorful (oh, and safer).
A très bon annivérsaire à la petite!
