a private courtyard
I hesitate to call this a courtyard as it should qualify as a full park.
The beautiful wrought iron gates were open
and I only stayed a few minutes.
There are small private courtyards all over Paris
but this one could not be seen from the street
and was revealed to be larger than I could imagine.

Une petit endroit charmant que cette cour ! dans Paris... qui détient de beaux secrets !

A very impressive "courtyard" Genie. I could sit down under one of those trees anytime.

What a gem. I'd love to be a 'passe muraille' and check out he inside of the house :)

I would have called it a park, too. Nice place!
It doesn't look like a "private" place.
You never know what is behind doors or gates.
Les jardins de l'hopital La Rochefoucauld ?
Alain, this is almost next door - Villa Adrienne
Corine, qu'est-ce que c'est
We met Rosemary, Aussie in France, today at Palais Royal for a visit. She also has a daily city blog, Blois Daily Photo.
We walked through e Delherin and shot many photos on our way to lunch with Paris friends. The rain started late in the afternoon but only slowed us down a bit.
More tomorrow....

Corine, what is 'passé muraille'?

Great looking place.
What a find!
Wonderful capture of a beautiful, peaceful looking place!! Hope your week is going well, Genie!!
my first comment ever : a passe muraille is basically somebody who can go through walls (coming from a short story from Marcel Aymé, and thereby anyone who sneaks in a private place to take a peek... what you did, didn't you ?
Marylène, thank you kindly for your reply. You have solved the mystery for me and now I will have to read the short story. You may email me directly if you prefer not to comment. I hope that you will drop by again often.
Bises,
Genie
