I'm sure they don't call them French braids for nothing! (And she must be very bien élevée to sit still while someone takes the time to make them so neatly.)
I really cannot vouch for her Frenchness and I would agree with Starman, that the parents may not look French... but she was just adorable with her long French braids, smart plaid coat with turned up collar. She had all the style of a petite French girl.
