Two minutes before I saw this gentleman zipping by on his trottinette, I captured a younger man going in the opposite direction. As you can see from the photo, monsieur is moving at a good pace.
The trottinette is not just a child's sidewalk ride to school!

L'essence coute trop et alors il faut se débrouiller. . Je vois que ton personnage est très rapide. Passe une belle journée et un beau fin de semaine. Merci pour cette photo très sympa.

Funny capture - especially because Monsieur seems to be middle-aged and to love the French food... ;-)

C'est trop fort! :o)
When I was a kid, I had one, much different , and much more comfortable. But I was impatient to grow up and to leave it. Today, it seems that some people feel like being kids again . Strange how things change..
Je ne pense pas que monsieur est dans son deuxième enfance. Il est simplement pratique.
And my, aren't you attracting a lot of comments en français. La vie est très intérresant. N'est-ce pas?
Bises, mon ami!
That's too funny! I actually did laugh out loud. Good on him.
The first thing that came to my mind is that he has stolen the scooter and is making a get-a-way.
Oh dear this looks a bit silly, such a heavy weight at this small toy. He better could walk.
Real great street view.Like it
This picture is wonderful, an artistic composition!
Léia
genie, this is a treasure.
Only in Paris can an older gentleman on a scooter look perfectly natural.
Monsieur is exercising and saving money, and having a blast in the process. Monsieur est tres intelligent, Genie. Great capture! Veronique (French Girl in Seatte)
Une photo géniale!!! je trouve que ce monsieur a le look pour faire de la trottinette !!! sourire!
Gros bisous
What's going on in Europe? :-)
You have to give him credit! I've often wondered what it would be like to ride on one of these!
Can you imagine a banker in NYC going to work like this?
LOL, Starman—and no I can't!
This guy may dress like a staid businessman, but you obviously can't tell this book by its cover. You go, monsieur!
Really great capture(s), Genie. Bon weekend!
Chere Genie, that is a fabulous shot!
I love this monsieur's joie de vivre!
I've missed much, but am going back to catch up with all of your brilliant photos, sweet friend...
Hope all is well...

Looks like executive travel expenses have taken a turn for the worse...! LOL
Very funny! In our town there are no school buses, so if a child rides one of these to school sometimes you see the parent "bringing it home" :)
I had to wait for this shot. The streets were relatively empty this January day and Monsieur was chatting with friends, a couple, and had this scooter in his hand. Holly and I walked ahead about 50 meters and when speeding guy (previous post) came screaming by, I got a single shot of him. Then, I could hear the sound of the scooter coming towards us and was hesitant to get him head-on, capturing him as he sped by. There is no shame in riding a trottinette, and this was obviously his vehicle of choice. I count myself lucky to have been there to witness the ride!
I do not think that the French, the Parisians, are overly concerned about any perceptions of this mode of transportation. There are many days that I would have loved to scooted on my way in Paris!
Have a great weekend, all.
Bises,
Genie
What a great capture. Reliving a little of his youth before heading off to work, perhaps?
Darryl and Ruth :)
I think he might be having a grand time.. I would love to see the expression on his face! :D Great shot as always, Genie!
Oh I love this one Genie, his 'inner child' must escape every time he has a ride! Exhilalrating!!
And on the L'Ile St. Louis no less. He's quite the brave soul.
Precious!!! But, did you know that you caught a shot of the infamous scooter thief in action?!
