La Ruche à Miel is a restaurant and salon de thé with a window view of the busy Marché d'Aligre. It is a regular Sunday morning stop, a quiet moment with un café before stepping back into the cacophony of the marketplace,
vendors shouting out the virtues of their produce, each trying to outdo the next.
I would invite you to stop a moment with me to enjoy the honey-laced pastries but it appears that someone has eaten them both... Perhaps it was Oskar!
I did get a photo first...

I have been to the Marché d´Aligre a couple of times, but I´ve never noticed this restaurant/salon de thé. I will look for it in July!
Hello Genie:
What an absolutely blissful place this looks to be. If we were fortunate enough to be having our breakfast there, then we are fairly certain that, with additional coffees, we should be enticed to spend the greater part of the morning sipping our drinks and people watching. It is far too long since we were in Paris.
We have discovered your most stylish blog through the comment, to which we have replied, which you were kind enough to leave on our recent post. We have signed as Followers.
That looks lovely. I always want to try ethnic foods in Paris but my husband always wants just to eat more typically French food. Will have to try and branch out next time.
Admit it, Genie! You ate it before we got there. Yes, it seems like a very civilized way to begin a day!
that crazy cat has got one prodigious appetite.
Must have been Oskar...who on earth would do such a thing! HA
WEll it wasn't moi, I have been nibbling a Nutella crouissant this morning! :)
Lovely little place and I love the blue and white plate!

I wouldn't be able to get away with that one Genie, everyone knows my weakness for pastries too well haha! The coffee looks so good I might have to go and make one!
I like pastries from northern Africa, but .. so much sugar! (I like the booknote!)
Miam miam pour le miel miel!!! ;)
I love everything about this photograph, and I want to be there!!
Happy Lundi, chere Genie!

Sounds delicious! I could go for a coffee and pastry just about now. :)
Good looking pastries.
So yummy! And I don't mean just the pastries.
Miam miam. How well I remember those delicacies!
It all looks wonderful.
And such a beautiful tray table. {If you'd shown the 'before' shot first, I might have been too distracted by the pastries to notice it.}
I love that book on the table. :)
The family that owns and runs this shop is delightful and have allowed me to photograph them and their salon de thé. When I once brought them back their portraits they insisted that Holly and I have a pastry (un p'tit cadeau). We always return for a quiet place to sit and they always recognize us... Of course, an American in a red coat (Holly) might be memorable.
Thank you kindly for your comments today.
Bises,
Genie
Aligre is definitely one of your favourite places! I remember some other nice eating - and drinking - there in good company! :-)
