La Maison du Cerf-Volant

A colorful shop on Rue de Prague, full of kites of all shapes and hues.

It's the weather for flying kites, n'est-ce pas?
May the spring winds lift your kite high into the blue sky!

What a delightful, colorful shop! And where else could you find an entire shop devoted to kites! I love it! Hope your week is going well, Genie!

Hey, I want the dog kite, too! Hands off, Randy! ;-) Grea shot, M'dame Genie. I might stop by the shop in a few weeks and see if they are still selling the kite! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Only in Paris such shops can be found!

Would love to fly a kite but the heavens have opened up down here in Melbourne.

I would never have dreamed that one could maintain a business selling only kites. Love all the colors.

A bird on a kite is an apt and appropriate symbol. What could be more fun than flying a kite on a day with soft breezes?

I keep thinking about the price of real estate in Paris...and wonder how many kites you would have to sell to pay the rent?

Oh and I do love the colorful picture.

Oh, and flying kites has always been such a romantic undertaking! There had to be an old kite store in Paris, certainly!

This shop is painted the most vibrant colors. I love to fly kites. I had a beautiful kite once that was made from parachute material. How I loved to fly it in the open field giving it just the right amount of slack to make it go higher and reeling it in when it went out and up to far.

Always wondered why we call them flying deers in french. Might be an interesting story behind this name.

Genie, the easiest way to do collages is on Picasa

I'm with Janey, how can you pay the Paris rent selling only kites. Love their clever signage aussi!

Fabulous colors, Genie! Perhaps the owner of this shop is an independently wealthy kite-loving man-child who doesn't have to worry about how many kites he needs to sell to make the rent. :~}

What a beautiful shop. That hue of blue is magical and makes me think of the coming summer. :) Hope you're having a fabulous week, Genie!

You see many blue doors in Paris, but rarely an all-blue building... I would love to find some kite-flyers and imagine that the two big parks (Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne) are good spots for kite-flying? Perhaps Buttes Chaumont?

The website even shows what I assume are "kite cars"-- what do you think? I am now wondering if there are any old-fashioned kite vendors in Paris.

Loved reading the comments.

Entre hier et aujourd'hui, je crois que cette belle boutique du cerf-volant aurait perdu tout son stock à cause des grosses rafales qui soufflent!...
J'aime beaucoup ces anciennes devantures repeintes... Une belle photo.
gros bisous
