Passage de Choiseul is situated between Rue des Petits Champs and Rue Saint Augustin and is one of the longest in Paris. Constructed in 1925 by architect Tavernier on the site of four hotels. Only a few elements of the hotel Gesvres were preserved, including the porch, which now forms the northern entrance. The long passage resembles a street with two rows of house connected only by a glass ceiling.
It is here that the artist Anna Stein has an atelier and boutique. As you can see from the window, she creates beautiful jewelry in addition to her paintings and sculptures. The shop was not open, perhaps closed for déjeuner, and I plan to return to meet this amazing woman. She was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1936 but has lived in Paris for many years, studying at Les Ecoles de Beaux-Arts.

It looks like a lovely place. I didn't recognize this as yours when it came up on my blogger dashboard. You have been using a restricted color palette lately and this one is so colorful.
I'd love to see the passageway - it sounds fascinating. And the light in Anna's atelier is beautiful. What a lovely place in which to create her works. Happy Friday, dear Genie.
I eat in Passage Choiseul on most days and her shop is almost never open. I think you have to call in advance to set an appointment.
Pretty. I will have to find that passage...
Genie, thanks for showing this fascinating space and art.
Enjoy your weekend,
Ruby
Très joli and I love le Passage de Choiseul... Wish I could afford one of Ms Stein's pieces of jewelry! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Beautiful shop front. I hope you do get to meet her and will let us know about her!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
What fascinating jewelry she makes! Thanks for this one, Genie—I may have mentioned that I worked in this passage (at number 38–42, my home away from home) when I lived in Paris. It's good to see such an interesting shop there.
The jewelry are beautiful indeed.
I try to remember this place when I am in Paris!
Nice weekend,
maria
I love finding artists at work in Paris. Maybe you'll get lucky here one day!

Hi Cynthia! It is so good to see you here and we must meet up on my next trip.
What I really enjoyed about this passage is the authentic appearance. It has not been scrubbed as clean as Vivienne or Colbert, maintaining the sense that you might have stumbled into a time machine, seeing Passage de Choiseul as it was 100 years ago.
Alexa, I am stunned and know that it holds a special feeling for you.
Bises,
Genie
