Seen in a shop window in the Marais,
this would make a great dress for a Valentine's Day party.
It will be a bit too much for my Valentine's Day plans!
Do you have anything special planned for tomorrow,
and do you give a Valentine or two?
Do you remember passing out Valentines to classmates,
maybe even decorating a box for yours?

Ah, yes! All of the above! But more years ago than I can count!! Love the red dress! No plans for Valentine's Day beyond sending lots of fun, love and good wishes to friends and family! And, speaking of friends, a very Happy Valentine's Day to you, dear Genie!!
Hugs
Sylvia
Quelle jolie robe, Genie! On Valentine's Day, Les Boys and I will exchange small gifts, and I may cook a special dinner... nothing major, just a small celebration. Happy Valentine's day to you, mon amie! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Jolie robe...

Ah, yes. Valentine's cards in elementary school.
Only one Valentine now. And actually, the day before Valentine's is more important. That's the day I gave her the engagement ring. No diamond; she prefers emeralds.
Lovely!!
I might have worn something like this 20 years ago! :))
Valentine's was ALWAYS my favorite celebration in school..
This year I will perhaps cook a pink and red themed dinner. We have a fabulous French bakery nearby, and they make the most delicate rose macarons..may get some of those!!
Wishing you lots of love, chere Genie, and a Happy Valentine's!
Bises,

A contrast between many French and American retailers these days is the French still know how to "tell a story" with their windows. The "story telling" is increasingly a lost art in the U.S.
What a beautiful blog. In our country we don't celebrate much Valentin. Maybe the young people do but the old ones never learned about it.
I am your new follower.

oh girl...this is THE DRESS! :)
Sigh...dreaming here!

Unfortunately no real personal Valentine celebration... but I will join some good blogger friends for dinner! :-)
Valentine Day is an American issue I think. Commerce has promoted it here too, but only the younger generations are interested.
Gorgeous gown ... wish I had somewhere to wear it :)
Deeply love this dress! I have no plans but would love to wear this beautiful gown, even to sit around the house, drinking champagne with my husband. Happy Valentine's Day to you! XO, Jill
Beautiful! Happy Valentine's Day my sweet friend!
Yes, I remember valentines day at school...and even de orating a shoebox as my "mailbox"....My how I wish a dress like that would still look good on me :(
Happy Valentines Genie!
No plans here. Husband and I were engaged on Valentine's Day 40 years ago and celebrate remembering the day by resurrecting the memories. (I'm glad I can still remember back that far. LOL)
I remember passing out Valentine's Day cards. Years ago, you could pass them to whoever you wanted to, leaving some kids out. I am so glad that when kids give them out in school now, they give one to everyone in the class. No one gets left out!
Years ago, I wooed my wife to be with the song Lady in red...
Perfect for Valentines Day and a gre
at reflection too.
I wish I could say that my wife and I have plans to be in Paris on Valentines Day, but no luck. I do remember passing out Valentines in class. :)
happy valentine to you, genie. have fun, with or without a fluffy red dress. hugs
A lovely dress but tomorrow is just another day for me - no fancy plans.
I'd dearly love to tell you I had plans that would warrant this dream of a dress (and the figure for it!) . . . but no such luck. Hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day, Genie!
Certainly evokes the feeling of Valentine's Day! We'll be going for dinner tomorrow night, but I won't be wearing anything that fancy.
Happy Valentine's Day to you!
I so wish I was the kind of woman who had the kind of life (and the kind of figure) that this dress would fit. Sadly, no. :(
That is indeed a beautiful red dress. No, it wouldn't have a place in my family for Valentine's Day. Just a simple dinner at the club.
fabulous dress...
i do remember those days of shoeboxes filled with handmade valentines♡
am bucking the trend and celebrating at a restaurant tonight with my hubby ;-)
Well the dress if ROUGE so I'm wishing I had it to wear tomorrow night!

I wore a dress vey much like it the night of my engagement.
We went to Philadelphia´s Academy of Music to see the Russian ballet "Don Quixote"
The Bolshoi was in town with the divine Maya Plisetskaya in the role of Kitri!
Sweet memories...
Stunning dress!
Congratulations, Kris, on the special memories of Valentine's Day proposal. Maria, that story takes my breath away! What wonderful memories! Rob, you captured a prize in red!
Irina, I should have made macarons instead of the cookies...
Thank you for the Valentine wishes, and I hope that each of you will have someone with whom to share a hug tomorrow, whether a spouse, close friend, sister/brother, child, or pet.
I have a special virtual treat for each of you tomorrow!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Genie
Is this red or orange? If it´s orange, it would be perfect for my "Paris Orange" series ;-)
Happy Valetine´s Day to you, mon amie!
I would love to
a) have an occasion to wear this dress
b) have the figure to wear it!
Perhaps tonight in my dreams?
Bonne Saint Valentin
liked this reflective photograph very much. Sometimes you never know exactly what you are going to end up with. Nice capture here. -Keith
Have you heard about METTE MARIT, our crown princess. She has plenty of Italian and French evening dresses?
