Room with a view...

Our apartment in Paris last month had this lovely view from the tall kitchen window.
The lace curtain filtered the early morning sun on the Haussmanian building
across Rue la Feuillades from our apartment.

Having un café et un croissant while admiring this view,
we almost felt like Parisiennes.

Je suis d'accord. If your nose is going to be stuck on another building when you look outside (not uncommon in Paris,) said other building might as well be a beautiful Haussmanian one, instead of a wall of grey concrete! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Lovely! Veronique is so right!

No bad view at all ;-)

Reasonable view. But shooting the building opposite through the curtain brings a whole new dimension to the picture.

I can understand why you would feel like a local with this view complete with croissant. Did anyone ever appear on the balcony?

It looks like a smoke-screen from an old bar. This is a beautiful building...love the wrought-iron balcony.

Haussmannian architecture against a clear blue sky backdrop photographed through a filmy window curtain .... Parisian indeed! I might sit in the kitchen avec un café et un croissant (or vin rouge et fromage) for quite some time just admiring such a delightful view. Thanks to your lovely photo, I can sit at my kitchen table and admire it while I eat my Cheerios :-)

The only way this scene could be more perfect is if it were outside my window...Somehow the driveway and the rather plain house next door just don't measure up!

Lovely. I particularly love pictures shot through windows and reflections, so this makes me sigh!

You almost felt like Parisiennes? With such a view, I'll bet you were at least 99% there, mon amie!

Tough lilving there, but someone has to do it.

I"ve enjoyed that very view myself, but I focused on the lace curtains instead! :)

I do like these buildings too. Some of these architects built the same type of buildings in other cities. I was surprised to see some like this one in Cairo, Egypt – of course they are decrepit now. It’s easy to recognize this architecture – a great view indeed.

I think that when you are in Paris, you get used to views like this... It is one of the delights of being there. The memories (and thousands of photos!) sustain me between trips.

Thank you for sharing the view with me again.
