You're back in my old neighborhood—and that's not the only reason I'm currently envious. Hope you and V have a fabulous visit—but I'm bound and determined to join you one of these times! Meanwhile, looking forward to new and exciting posts --
As the evening rays bid adieu to remains of the day the fluorescent lights of la Ville-Lumiere flickered into life. As was his want, Monsieur Gerard took his regular stroll to his favourite neighboring shops. His purchases were efficient, he knew the produce well. With a Camembert and a Beaujolais tucked securely under his arm he climbed the stairs to his one bedroom attic apartment.
Yes, I have ummmed and ahhhhed in both those shops as well. Enjoy your trip and don't let V lead you astray too far. Surely you are not all staying off Rue St Honore?
These shops at Place Maubert are also on my way 'home' when I'm in Paris. Nothing finer than to be on old familiar streets when in Paris --- unless one is exploring new streets that will become old favorites! Have fun!
Yes, we are headed that direction and I would like to say that Paris may never be the same... We are meeting bloggers we have already met and ones we are just meeting face-to-face. Holly and I will be spending time with Isabelle who is working in Paris now. Peter (Peter's Paris) will try to get in a word edgewise and I have 4 8GB memory cards and a back-up camera. Paris portraits are packaged for distribution. Yes, ready to GO!

As I came back, I read Joe's comment. Now I know where the beaujolais went ...
Ah, now I know we have something in common other than photogaphy Genie! Nice shots!
They look like little cosy beacons. Have a magnificent time, dear Genie! I echo Alexa's wish to join you and Virginia there someday.
Un bonito paseo a casa.
Saludos de Isis
One can easily whittle away the time just browsing in these shops.........so much to choose from ........ so many temptations!
A little jealous of your forthcoming trip with Viginia!
Enjoy.
I'll join you, too. J'adore les crottes de chevre, par example.
Hmmmm. That looks like way too much goodness, side by side.
And Bear isn't there. Quelle domage.
Two places I would very much like to see in my neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale.

This image is promise of a delicious evening, petite soiree a deux.
Bon voyage Genie!

Warm and inviting places!
I think the contrast of the lights at night make for a warm and inviting visit. It seems even at night, the Paris shops are lovely!
So.. I see from Virginia that you're on your way over now! Oh you lucky. Have a wonderful time!!
Definitely two stops well worth making. I hope Virginia, Mary, Holly and you (plus any other interlopers) all have a great and productive trip!
There just needs to be bakery next to these too.

Yum. Just as well there isn't a fromagerie in our village, my hips would never recover. Enjoy!
This is one of the places I stop to have my cheese wrapped and packaged to bring home! They are always so friendly and helpful here!
