This stunning museum just across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower prompted a day trip to Chartres to see the architecture and amazing buildings first hand.
The replicas are beautifully executed and give the appearance of the originals.
I like the juxtaposition of these architecture elements in this modern building. Haven't managed to get to this museum. Next time for sure—and thanks for the preview!
I would love to visit this museum. If this photo is any indication of what you might find inside, I would really enjoy it.
I love those windows with metal frames that I'm seeing in decorating magazines and in blogs. This picture the one beneath it in your last post reminds me of them. They have an industrial feel and look nice with the Belgium and French look.
I hope you are staying dry and that tropical storm Lee doesn't flood where you are?
Ooooh, I love this view! That was such an intersting museum ... loved the detailed reproductions ... the full-sized as well as the miniatures. And, just for Virginia ... all that rouge!!!
The architectural heritage of France is well represented in realistic expressions. Also, there is a fabulous view from the premier etage (2nd floor) of the Eiffel Tower.
Kris, we are in the midst of a slow moving tropical storm (Lee) which is dumping many inches of rain. I have been watching the angry gulf waters as we get bands from the rotating storm.

Beautiful yet strangely odd under such an industrial roof.
The Chartres one looks like older, doesn't it? :-)
glad you got to go to Chartres! belle photo
I love this museum. I don't think a lot of visitors know about it!

This looks like a trip well worth the investment of time.

Beautiful photo. I remember the museum an eye-opener to see all the architecture so close.

An ancient/modern architectural mix. Quite fascinating.
Tried to get in a couple of times, but it was closed each time.

This is old art! I liked
Great angle and i loved the mix of styles!
Wow! Those do look amazing for replicas.
I guess this goes to what I said in my most recent posts that us photographers love photographing anything that involves architecture.
What a treat for the eyes.

I am not familiar with this museum. A museum whose collection is of reproductions?
This museum is on my list for my 'next' visit to Paris. Glad you went to Chartres -- well worth the visit.
