The tassel tie-backs are lovely, too. What a find, Genie!

Oh my! Genie, what a treasure trove ~ those chairs in the front left are gorgeous, and that little stool so sweet.

A woven feast for the eyes (and I can just imagine the tactile feast!) Gorgeous -- I love the muted colors. I think I could put that fireplace screen in my living room!!

Tapestry is not a lost art! Those are wonderful. But I'm not sure you could use as many as they did in draughty old castles.

A la prochaine.

That really is a find! Just gorgeous, and I love the way they're displayed. Wish my place was big enough for something like that big ol' high-backed chair!
Thanks for sharing, Genie!

I like this kind of tapestries only when they are old an these look fantastic! Great find, Genie.

If you like tapestries, you'll love the Cluny.

Oooooh! Can you hear me squealing from there? I adore this whole vignette. I could spend days and days wandering the markets...

Shell -- Oh, I almost missed seeing those! This is one of those photos in which I keep discovering little treats.

Dianne -- I would feel like a queen with that little stool.

Leia -- Merci, and I think that the details on the hand crafted chair tapestries are divine.

Dave -- Merci!

Jane -- Oh la la!

Marie -- I'll call ahead and have them put it aside.... Let's go get it!

Virginia -- We'll go the next time in Paris....

Alexa -- That high-backed chair is just wonderful but I think it might look quite big in a "regular-sized" room.

Bear -- So glad to hear that the art is alive. I cannot imagine how long it would take to craft those tapestries. I have done needlepoint before (and petitpoint) and it is quite tedious!

JM -- I think that the old ones have a very stylish look, probably passed down for a generation or two.

Loree -- Oh yes, these would be very fine carpets!

Starman -- I will have to look into that. Tell me more....

Parisian -- I do love the markets! I am usually so meticulous about documenting my photos (location, etc) but I am not sure that I could find my way back to this place.

I would have a hard time deciding on what to purchase. They are all so lovely.
