Jardin du Luxembourg
This very old carrousel in Jardin du Luxembourg
does not have glitter,
shining lights, or
polished ponies, but...
you can wield a baton and
catch a brass ring on each pass
bon weekend

Such a delightful aspect of Parisienne life Genie.
ReplyDeleteHello Genie,
ReplyDeleteMy daughters never miss the chance of a caroussel ride every time we go shopping! Only problem is, my youngest keeps getting off the pony and changing to another one midway through the ride!
Duncan In Kuantan
She is one happy kid.
ReplyDeleteHello Genie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea this is.......provided one can still hold on to the horse whilst hoisting a ring! Old carousels are so intriguing, so much more pleasing to the eye than their more gaudy modern counterparts.
A delightful shot!
ReplyDeleteThis petite fille has some serious brass-ring-catching skills!
ReplyDeleteQuelle bonne idée !
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet !! There's something very charming about the worn look of this carousel ~ it's well-loved. Have a happy weekend, dear Genie.
ReplyDeleteSweet photo.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long time since either of us showed a carousel.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I am sure that you saw many carousels on your recent trip to Paris.
ReplyDeleteDuncan, there is nothing quite like the enthusiasm of a child on a carousel
Lance and Jane, there are several of this variety in Paris with the horses and other animals just a bit shabby, but they are a reminder of times past. Some of these kids are quite good at spearing the ring!
Alexa, this was obviously not her first merry-go-round.
Tahiti, vraiment!
Sweet Shell, I know how you love carousels. I am wishing you a wonderful change of seasons and a happy weekend!
Jack, and I have even more to show...
Bises,
Genie
