Galerie Véro-Dodat
In
1826, two friends, Messieurs Véro and Dodat, opened a covered galerie
between Rue du Bouloi and Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Built
in Neoclassical style with a decor that included details of copper and
cast iron,
along with mirrors and the black and white marble floor,
it
quickly became the darling of Paris.
This early winter morning photo found the passage
in fine order, a close reflection of its 19th century beauty.

Very strong perspective in this photo! Everything about it is pulling my eyes into to scene!
ReplyDeleteYes you can't have enough galeries of this type in your city.
ReplyDeleteThe perspective is classic!

Lovely, Genie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful passage—beautifully captured!
ReplyDeleteOh Genie!!!! One of my favourites. I adored this passage. Did you see my blog post on it? In fact, I did a 'series' of posts on many of the various Parisian passages. One of my favourite projects while I was in Paris! The furniture in Vero Dodat was incredible....and then there were the shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know, with the 'red' soles! OMG!!!!
ReplyDeleteR
I like all the different patterns.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes! How could I forget the Louboutin boutique at the end of this passage?
ReplyDeleteOooooohhhh. Such a fine place and such a fine image. I want to go there with my camera and try my luck.
