Buveuses de thé

Tea drinkers

On a brisk afternoon we found we found
these women enjoying tea in the winter sun.

I wonder if they knit as well?

  1. Bonjour chère amie,

Cela fait du bien de pouvoir prendre une tasse de thé dehors en plein hiver ! que cela puisse durer !

    Gros bisous ♡

  3. So invigorating, finding an outdoor spot that warms heart and soul, together with a good cup of tea!
    Beautifully captured!

  4. Kirsten with the dark top on the right; she likes the theatre. Gabrielle on the left; she is an accomplished ballet dancer. Vivienne just visible, well she plays polo. They all drink tea. :-)

  5. They look very happy -- perhaps grabbing the sun before the winter sets in?

  7. Tea would be welcome, particularly with an obscene amount of sugar.

  9. Sons and daughters will go, the good friends will stay.

I like so much this image: it represents an almost sacred moment. Part of that 1% of time in modern life style , that gives live meaning.

For me the composition uses the chairs, as a basket, that picks the joy of this moment and elevate it to the heights, by continuity of straight lines to the ones of the triangle, that pulls the attention to the plane of ideas and feelings being shared.
It's the warmth of endearing friends wiping out an icy day! ( Many thanks Genie, I'm not as cold as before looking at it).
