Paulownia trees
In an explosion of color,
the view of Avenue de Laumière is obstructed
by the mass of Paulownia trees
lining the street from Métro Laumière
to the end at Parc des Buttes Chaumont.
If you are in Paris this spring,
take a trip to the park walking along this street for a few blocks.
It makes for a grand promenade

In our Herefordshire garden we grew Paulownia tomentosa but it was never hot enough in the preceding summer to get any flower. Such a disappointment but it always had magnificent leaves. This image today almost makes us jump on the first aeroplane to Paris. So spectacular and so very lovely.
I will take the apartment whose window is completely obscured by this magnificent tree. What a breathtaking announcement of Spring! The joy of Printemps!!

Jane and Lance, you would swoon to see these trees in bloom. They stretch to touch, making a lacy arch of purple up the slight hill to the park.
Jean-Marie, spring will surely come and then the radiant warmth of summer.
I must note to see this avenue in the fall. I do not know what color the leaves will be but I am imagining a street littered with bright gold leaves.

It would be worth having an apt. on this street (as opposed to one more centrally located, that is) just for the brief time in spring that you'd get to enjoy this gorgeous spectacle!
Lovely pop of lavender against the building. I'll have to put that on my list!
