Looking across the end of the Square de l'Île de France the textures and colors are punctuated by the 5ème arrondissement's notable skyline. The Panthéon is the tallest building and Église Saint Étienne du Mont is to the left, an easy walk from Pont Saint Louis where this photo was taken.
bon dimanche

That is an enchanting view.
ReplyDeleteAs you know by now, when «Louis» lived in Paris, he lived right around the corner, so to speak, on rue Saint-Antoine, so he knows this view. Not only is le Panthéon et Église Saint-Etienne-du-Mont an easy walk, the walk is very well worth it!
ReplyDeleteSomething that amuses «Louis» about churches in France: often there are more than one adjacent to one another - all Catholic. Le Panthéon was intended to be a church - with Saint Etienne-du-mont being right there! At one time, there were two other churches next to Nôtre-Dame! At Montmartre, you have that ancient church next to Sacré-Coeur.
«Louis'» church post today is Stanford Memorial Church at Stanford University.
And if you take that walk from here to there, you may very well pass my old apartment too. I loved living in this neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was there today!
ReplyDeleteIt a lovely view.
ReplyDeleteInteresting shot Genie!
ReplyDeleteNice to see the cupola of the Pantheon. At present it's hidden by tarpaulins for months, years...? :-)
