Painted eggs...

Displayed in an iron and glass case,
these painted and lacquered eggs are a beautiful reminder
of a bygone era.

I remember having a very old one like these
as a child that would open to reveal the treats inside.
I do imagine that the treats in these
would be better than the jelly beans I had.

Hello Genie,

How beautifully decorated these eggs are and how they deserve their luxurious surroundings!

One can only imagine the delicious contents......what a lucky person will open one of these on Easter Day!

Yikes! Think of the cavities! Not that I care, but my dentist sure would be happy I said that.

I bet the old jelly beans were much tastier than the ones they sell today!

I can also remember my mother staying up all night to finish six Easter dresses, and to carry on the tradition I smocked and made dresses for my daughters for Easter day. However, I went to bed before finishing the button holes and buttons. I got my sleep and just basted (slip stitched) them into the dresses before church. After church a seam ripper was all it took to take them off.

I cannot imagine doing six!

Have a beautiful weekend.

Bises,
Genie

I don't know Genie, jelly beans sound pretty good to me right now, especially in such wonderful 'containers' :)
