Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole
depuis 1594
Hidden on a narrow street so very close to Notre Dame, this auberge has been open since 1594. The structure itself was built in 1512 after completion of the Cathedral.
The ancient wisteria twists upon itself,
framing the door and window above.
Today I join the City Daily Photo bloggers with a traditional first day of the month theme,

Une entrée très charmant Genie.
It is indeed charming, Genie, but the upkeep ... the upkeep ...
Inauguré pour l'entrée d'Henri IV à Paris, peut-être ?
Lovely!

Love the parrot!
It's absolutely lovely! And how old must that wisteria be? Great choice for theme day!
Like living in a tree house.
I love this spot -- I've passed by more than once; it is enchanting.
now that is a pretty little spot!
Awesome entrance! And I love the bird (parrot?) in front of the window!
It is a lovely entrance, Genie!
Unique and pretty.
I´ll remember it.
One of the most photogenic spots in Paris.

Beautiful!
oh genie, this is beautiful . hope all is well with you and the family ..
Absolutely beautiful!
This is rather delightful, isn't it?
What a beautiful shot. I'm hoping to visit Paris in Spring and would love to see that wisteria in bloom - can you share where this lovely spot is? Thanks!
This one makes me wince, Genie. My otherwise wonderful neighbors have a huge wisteria vine hanging into my yard from theirs. It is a WEED, and an uncontrollable one, at that!!!
Love that tree/vine.
Right out of a fairy tale! How I would love to see it in bloom!
I'm with Marie -- when the wisteria's in bloom, it must match the color of the little table and chairs. This place is enchanting!
How beautiful! I could be very happy sitting there for a while and watching the world go by.
A beautiful contribution to the theme!
Quaint and charming , always looking out for these sort of houses to see, thank you for sharing.
This kind of beauty leaves me speechless....no words needed here... :)
Well, maybe just one... wow! :))
