A light dinner
If I had easy access to this simple fare at home,
it would be a regular evening meal.
When it was cold and drizzling and we had already walked many miles,
this scene around our apartment table was a favorite of mine...
-food, wine, and great friends-
the laughter was abundant

La soupe est également une tradition très Française.
My husband, who looked over my shoulder, just said,in French of course "Nice plate, but where is the butter?"
A true French man, raised in a farm, reaction.....

Ha, good idea for saturday evening.
Miam, miam! Treasured memories of similar repasts!!!
I can't think of a finer meal -- especially when it is shared by friends! A lovely photo to show it off with, too!
All the essentials for a good meal...
All the important food groups appear to be covered.
And thank you, Genie and Virginia! What makes this fabulous meal even more wonderful? I actually lost weight eating this stuff!
Marylène—tell your husband that the butter was still in the frigo. :~}
Now that would be a treat.
Been there, had that, loved that. A good time was had by all!!!

Marylène, tell your husband that we ate almost all of the butter in that blue and white checked wrapper.
My mouth is watering as I look at the photo and wish that I had a hot baguette right this minute.
Marie, we wished that you had been with us also!
Bises,
Genie
Les baguettes ont l'air cuites à point, j'en ai l'eau à la bouche, un petit apéro entre amis comme celui-là, j'aime ! En plus rue Jacob c'est encore mieux, j'arrive !

I don't think I would have this for dinner every night, but a couple times a week would be good.
YUM! :-)
Oh my, that indeed looks delicious.
Oh how wonderful. And Morbier too! One of my favourite cheeses. I've never understood why they serve butter with the cheese!
