The red door
The renovations at this nearly 400-year-old church
have made a remarkable difference in its presence on Rue Saint Antoine.
The former door was a deep gray-maroon
and lost in the dark pollution-stained surrounding structure.
The interior has likewise been restored and repaired.

the red door is perfect for the coming Christmas :)
It is a beautiful shade for the entry!
Beautiful entrance.
Une couleur qui redevient à la mode après avoir longtemps été considérée comme "vulgaire". Il faut dire qu'elle a longtemps été associée aux lieux de débauche.
We once had an apartment only a few steps from here. Love the door treatment.
The colour really brings out the beautiful ornate detail on the door - gorgeous!

A beautiful shot as always Genie.
So inviting! I want to cross that elegant threshold and see what is inside. Bon dimanche!
If you readers could see a "before" photo, they would appreciate this even more.
Love to see pics of this church - have been staying in that area for several years so each time we go we see it bloom!
A great color choice and especially wonderful at this time of year!
Ooooohhhhhh! What a spectacular door!!!
I was so thrilled to find this church all spruced up since I had last seen it—and they chose a perfect color for the doors, didn't they?
Those doors are simply gorgeous! And so is the photograph! Happy Holidays!
Bisous!
