Église Saint Germain des Prés

Église Saint Germain des Prés

This 1,000 year old tower stands tall in the St Germain area.  The renovations inside and out are heartening with many visitors taking notice.

The first time I saw this church I thought it dark and depressing.  My recent visits reflect the interest of the congregation and the neighborhood.

bon dimanche

  3. A beautiful glimpse through the trees Genie. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I'm still coming to grips with the realisation that my lovely daughter is all grown up and really leaving home, even though she will only be five minutes away :)

  5. Love the way you have composed this photo. Your comments make me want to visit it again.
BTW - love the way the light hits the bridge in your banner photo. Is it a morning shot or evening? In my mind, I think of it as a morning shot with the light waking up the city. Always a delight each time I open your blog.

  6. When «Louis» visited this church, he, too, thought it was dark and depressing. He would like to see it again.

«Louis» participated in the inSPIREd Sunday meme with this rather workaday Lutheran church in Cloverdale, California.

  7. It was definitely dark and depressing when I first saw it back in the '60s! So good to see how beautifully it's been spruced up. And I love this composition!
