Gare de l'Est - Dépêchez-vous!

Gare de l'Est

Have you ever noticed the people running in train stations?
It is no different in Paris as we see these passengers hurrying off a train.

I have done the same myself, hurrying to catch a train
in Madrid, in Prague, in Vienna, in Milan... and even in Paris.

Why would one need to run
with sufficient planning of schedules and locations?
Well, for one, it is never a simple matter
to find the correct window for ticket sales.
Buying tickets on-line in advance will reduce the stress.

Perhaps you will have time to sit in the station
and photograph others who did not plan as well.  Hummmm...

  2. I don't run for trains any more Genie. There's always another one coming along the tracks.

  3. Train stations are a wonderful "people watching station!" and it's funny how we automatically run, even if we're on time! The thought of a train just means, "DÊPECHEZ-VOUS!"

Merci Genie, for coming by to visit the white horses! Much love, Anita

  5. Well, this brings back memories of Paris. I was very happy there, every one was lovely to me.
I was alone and I remember asking a young man in French (TEXAS french)
*where is la gare) He laughed and said, "You was asking where is the WAR!"

  8. For peace of mind, my grandmother would get to the train station about two hours early. (I believe I inherited that gene.) You really captured the ambience of the station, Genie.

  9. Same in airports, except there you also have the uncertainty of how slow the security checkpoint is.

  10. Although the trains run pretty much on schedule in Europe, it's not always perfect!
