Marché d'Aligre

Marché d'Aligre

This is not the expanse of goods
that you might find at one of the renown flea markets of Paris,
but I have never come away empty-handed,
nor left the area hungry!

This reminds me of car-boot sales my dad used to take me to when I was younger. Always something to pick up!

Marché chic sous la halle, marché forain et puces à l'extérieur, il y a de tout sur le marché d'Aligre.

The people living behind those balconies would have the pick of this treasure trove Genie.

I can never leave a flea market or a jumble sale empty-handed!

Yes it looks like the whole of France is addicted to this pastime. The longer you look. The more you find. Happy hunting Genie.

We tried to go there but by the time we made it, it had closed up for the day -- love the b/w treatment in this photo.

We had a very long day today and were here at Marché d'Aligre early, walked the Promenade Plantée, met up with Peter and Paris friend Isabelle. We walked and walked, had lunch at Merci on Blvd Beaumarchais, and took hundreds of photos. We regrouped at the apartment, went out for groceries, had dinner at Bistrot Victoires, and then Isabelle and I decided to go out for the Fête de la Musée. All of the Paris museums were open tonight until midnight. We stayed out until after the midnight sparkling of the Eiffel Tower, and then decided to catch the metro home... Tomorrow is another full day!

Thank you for your comments! I will have much to share with you in the coming weeks
