Parc de Monceau - la pyramide égyptienne

2012 Mar 30 Paris_047DSC_4995

The Egyptian Pyramid

Parc de Monceau was designed by Carrogis Carmontelle in the late 1700s
with a fanciful assortment of features:
a Roman colonnade, antique statues, a tatar tent,
a farmhouse, an enchanted grotto, an Egyptian pyramid, and more

It is one of my favorite parks in Paris, active with Parisians and their children.
The change of seasons is particularly remarkable in the spring.

  4. Is it possible to enter the pyramid?

  5. Hmm. Now that is an unusual feature to find in a Parisienne park. If I remember correctly a pyramid in Paris featured in one of Dan Brown's novels.

  10. The flowering tree really makes this photo for me. I miss these in the spring, but not enough to go back up north this soon.

  12. This very bourgeois neighborhood wouldn't be my first choice for where to live in Paris (besides, I couldn't begin to afford it!)—except for that wonderful, beautiful park.

  14. I do not know what fascinates me more in this park... the unexpected sights such as this pyramid or the activity around the play areas and carousel.

Each season brings a new look. Pink is one of my favorite colors...

    Bises,
    Genie

  16. Cette année, nous avons attendu le printemps avec tant d'impatience que nous nous émerveillons de la moindre fleur.
Très jolie photo, Genie, avec le contraste marqué entre le minéral et le végétal.
