In the center of the passage of Galerie Vivienne is this proper salon de thé
You can see one of the menus here in chalk, typical French script, on the easel blackboard
I love the floor tiles, the ambiance and the fare
You can sit here on the "terrace" in the galerie itself or inside the restaurant. Both settings are enchanting and you will feel transported back about a hundred years.

Hello Genie:
ReplyDeleteAlthough we should find ourselves here drinking coffee rather than tea, this is exactly the kind of place we should choose to be. The tiled floor is, we agree, wonderful and worth being there for that alone.
The Galerie Vivienne is such a beautiful place! I passed by the salon de thé a lot of times, but never stopped for a tea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful place for une tasse du thé!
ReplyDeleteI like small details, like red flowers on the table. But I must say that I'm surprised by the very expensive prices!
ReplyDeleteOh, quel calembour....à Priori Thé ...
ReplyDeleteBut it looks like a good salon de thé.
Do the deliver to Austalia? If so I'll order the cheesecake.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the mosaic floor {and I know someone else who will love it, too!}
ReplyDeleteVery charming place and your picture is wonderful!I like so much the detail of flowers on the table!
ReplyDeletehugs and a nice day
Léia
how welcome this image makes us feel.
ReplyDeleteLet's do sit for a bit and enjoy the thé et pâtisserie and let stress and cares just melt away :)
ReplyDeleteVery charming looking place. Love the chairs.
ReplyDeleteAs I remember, Peter and I had a look at the menu and decided we should dine somewhere else. Now I can't remember if it was the price or the choices. Regardless it's bound to be a grand spot for people watching!

Very nice! I love the way the French dress their tables. A topper on top of a tablecloth, a small vase of fleurs...it always looks so simple yet very chic!
ReplyDeleteThat looks a lovely place to be. I have still to get my head around French writing, think it must be the flourishes that get me confused!! Diane
ReplyDeleteA cup of tea and maybe a nosh is about all I could afford here. That brunch is incredibly pricey. But you're right, it is a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteC'est tres francais indeed.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your site. Your photography is amazing, and provides me with a little trip through Paris that I would not ever get the chance to do, in real life. Twice I have hit the follow your site button, I hope it takes this time. Have a magnificent day, Connie :)
ReplyDeleteThe floor was the first thing I noticed! Aaah, Genie, what an inviting shot. I would happily park myself here for a bit with a cup of tea and a little something to nibble on.
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to go there and have a cup of tea. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteI'd love that trip back 100!
ReplyDeleteThe mosaic floor would lure me in for sure.
ReplyDeleteI would enjoy sitting here and watching the people in G. Vivienne, and would certainly be pleased to by joined by friends.
ReplyDeleteThe tiles here are beautiful and are the logo design for this salon de thé.
Connie, it is nice to see you here and I paid you a visit. Jane and Lance, I would prefer un café also!
The French writing has such style and I have tried to form my numbers and letters just so... Perhaps I should get a blackboard!
Bises,
Genie
The vase of red poppies is such a perfect touch to the table setting, it's the little things that make all the difference oui!
