Au Rendez-Vous de Montmartre, café-bar-restaurant
...a place where everybody knows your name
Well, perhaps not, but can you imagine a better place
to put on your red hightop sneakers and visit with a friend?
15, rue de la Vieuville

Métro Abbesses
Looks inviting. I love how the red frames it.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime cette photo... Un ami de l'établissement certainement ! pour être en parfaite harmonie...

... and not just any sneakers, Converse, of course! They look so good, with "le zinc" (the counter) as backdrop! Great shot Genie. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteHello Genie:
ReplyDeleteWe can well see ourselves sitting atop those high chrome stools and idling away an entire morning, if not a whole day - punctuated of course with plenty of coffee.
Oh wonderful, may I join dear Jane and Lance in their idling? ;)
ReplyDeleteChere Genie, I love this! The red is a gorgeous frame, and that lovely lady looks genuinely happy!
Thank you so much for you very kind words, Genie...I am very touched by your dear sentiments, and feel very blessed to know you.
Bises!

Cafe au Lait. A French Coffee Drink. The meaning of the term differs between Europe and the United States; in both cases it means some kind of coffee with hot milk added, in contrast to white coffee, which is coffee with room temperature milk or other whitener added. Make mine a double.
ReplyDeleteWish I was there too, looks so inviting with the door open and the sun shining.
ReplyDeleteWell, at Montmartre, a problem may be to find the genuine place, where “everybody knows your name”, but with your usual flair, you obviously spotted one of them!
ReplyDeleteOh absolutely! Especially with the red high tops!
ReplyDeleteavec ce beau temps c'est bar ou terrasse
ReplyDeleteHee! They look very friendly and welcoming. That's a wonderful idea, Genie.
ReplyDeleteLove the red framing the dark interior. Looks like a place I would enjoy.
ReplyDeletetres rouge, tres jolie.
ReplyDeleteCount me in!....Janey
ReplyDeleteMerci for this nice ROUGE café. She looks very friendly and happy to have you take her photo!

Red high tops, candy cane laces and with bells on too. Well maybe not for me, but someone else :)
ReplyDeleteThe lady smiling sure looks like she is enjoying your picture. Where else other than Paris can you see red high top sneakers?
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that the red entry and doors of the cafe's and shops in Paris look better than over here?
Great image, You have captured the relaxed atmosphere perfectly.
ReplyDeleteYour photos of Paris are so dreamy!! I'm so happy we have you and Virginia blogging every day and I hope you never ever stop.
ReplyDeleteI want to go! :) What a lovely, happy looking place. What fun
ReplyDeleteA smile framed in red. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteDu café à un café regarde très invitant.
ReplyDeleteMarci, Génie!
I always coordinate my footwear with the decor of my dining establishments. Doesn't everyone?
ReplyDeleteJane and Lance, hanging out at a zinc bar in Paris for an afternoon, meeting friends and making new ones is my idea of a perfect outing... It is difficult to force myself to s-l-o-w down and I am just now able to sit quietly in a park and stop taking photos. I must go back and try harder - haha!
ReplyDeleteVeronique, yes Converse and how could I fail to mention le zinc!
Kris, as I selected this photo I was wondering the very same thing. It is just too bad that our "red bars" are not as charming in the US as in Paris...
Jack, uh, I think that you do not.
To all, as is often the case, I did not see the Converse red hightops until I downloaded the photo, a lagnaippe! I have a few other versions of this café which I will share later.
Don't you love the stained glass window in the back?
Bises,
Genie
paris, high tops and all ! all righty then, I have offered myself a daytrip next week Genie and will be thinking of you ! not that I will be wearing red all stars ! ha!
ReplyDeleteI like this very much! Sort of reminds me of a Doisneau photo.
ReplyDeleteUne Cappuccino sil vous plait!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish Genie!
