blé sucré is relatively new on the Paris bakery scene when one considers the legends of Ladurée and Pierre Hermé. Founded by patissier Fabrice Le Bourdat, the list of temptations is long. The quality is high and yet the prices are not. So, what should you choose?
pan au chocolat, madeleine, and financier
Still hungry?
chocolate éclair, croissant, chaussons aux pommes
More?
How about an assortment of macarons
Miam-miam!

Q: What would «Louis» chose?
ReplyDeleteA: All of the above...
They all sound "délicieux" but i must say that I "craque" for the sign itself--- you know how much I love signs, Genie. Great shot ;-) Veronique - French Girl in Seattle
ReplyDeleteHi Genie
ReplyDeleteWell I can say that although I tried to avoid sugar and carbs [insulin problem] whilst I was in Paris.. by the end of my trip on my return to Paris I was eating pain au chocolate every day.. haha.. I miss it.. will have to find some here!!!
You know sadly I didn't make it to Laduree.. maybe I was subconsciously avoiding the sugar??? I wish though I had found that cute little boulangerie you showed a few posts back.. gee.. should have checked out your blog before I ventured over there..
Thanks for your kind comments.. As I say here in Aus... 'Bless Your Cotton Socks'.. Have a great day!! ciao xxx Julie
I'll try one of everything please, Genie.
ReplyDeleteLove the windmill.
goûter traditionnel quand on est au square trousseau. a nice place.
ReplyDeleteI would certainly have an 'Armandine' if available!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sign and image...and info!
Merci ma Cher!
karin
Jolie enseigne en fer forgé. C'est beau l'artisanat!
ReplyDeleteGenie, I didn't get a chance to make it to ble sucre last visit- looking forward to it next time though. I'd want all of the above.
ReplyDeleteAnd now you are tempting us again :-)
ReplyDeletestupendo questo scorcio di Parigi!!!
ReplyDelete^____________^
Beautiful photo hunt !
ReplyDeleteNow that's my kind of cake shop - good quality but not too expensive. Ble sucre for moi.
ReplyDeleteLoving that ironwork and sign! As for your challenging array of choices, I will go for the macarons. For the first visit, that is.
ReplyDeleteI leave the sweets and look at the beautiful sign, so much details with a windmill and the curls. No temptations on Monday, have to be strong.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore vos photos. Et moi, je voudrais manger tous les gateaux. Ils sont délicieux! Bonne journée.
ReplyDeleteLouis has it right. One of each, please. And then I won't eat for a week.
ReplyDeleteCute sign. I will have one of each please..
ReplyDeleteNext time at LaDuree on the Champs..request a table upstairs...very formal and beautiful up there...draperies, oil paintings and chandeliers ...an elegant setting for their sweets! But, maybe you know that....
I think today it would be a pain au chocolat pour moi. Love the way you captured the sign. Temptingly wonderful way to start the week!
ReplyDeleteOh la la, un macaron pour moi s'il vous plait!!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
- Irina
I'll try them all too. Eclairs.... Ah!
ReplyDeletePain au chocolat bien sûr! The sign is great. Reminds me of the ones hanging in the hallway of the Musée Carnavalet!
ReplyDeleteV
Let's buy one of each, and then share a small piece of everything.. before deciding!
ReplyDeleteOh girl...after a day at school now I need to think about my dinner!
ReplyDeleteLéia :)
All this temptation and no address? Love the photo of this wonderful sign.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I must thank Richard for his comments en français -- a great way to learn how the French say things.
And I would love to know more about this word "craque" used by French girl in Seattle. This is the second time I've come across it.
Genie,
ReplyDeleteI'm not picky! I'll take one of each! HA HA I do love pan au chocolat and madeleines. I make madeleines at Christmas time.
Kris
I'll take one of each -- or maybe two, Genie!!! It's a chilly gray day, I just took Sam Schnauzer for a walk and I'm starving!! You do know how to tease us!! Sounds heavenly! Hope you have a lovely evening, mon amie! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Genie
Haha! You're such a 'tease' Genie..!
ReplyDeleteIt is me, the Monday tease with pastries! The address is at the bottom of the post and the font is rather small.
ReplyDeleteIt is 7, rue Antoine Vollon, on the west side of Square Trousseau, one short block from Métro Ledru Rollin.
... more later, mes amis!
Genie
for Harriet: "craque" means "I fall for...". I craque for the croissants and pain au chocolat. One of each. Of course croissant au beurre. Mmmmm
ReplyDeleteA Weight Watchers members nightmare! Ok just a little taste.
ReplyDeleteMerci, la pomme du verger!
ReplyDeleteA half dozen of each, s'il vous plait.
ReplyDeleteOn your way ot or from Marché Aligre? Miam-miam! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be some petits pains au chocolat.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you non-Parisians can go so long without eating our bread!
ReplyDeleteTraveling to Paris for the pastries alone would be worth the trip. I would need to bring along an empty suitcase for the goodies I couldn't finish eating!
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought as Virginia when I saw the sign. Genie, you had me at pain au chocolat—but I'll save some room for a macaron (ou deux), bien sur!
ReplyDeleteone of each please. I have such a sweet tooth :) I am so happy that you are finding my little country so interesting Genie.
ReplyDeleteOh ma belle Genie!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you kind, wonderful and sincere comments are TRULY APPRECIATED!!! AND...YES, YOU ARE MY 1000th follower!!!! WOWOOWOOWOWOOWOWOW! I would like to send you something for being the 1000th follower. Email me your addy:
rivani@bethel.edu
AND YOUR SWEET WORDS regarding friendship....you all are important to someone, to me, let us just practice goodness!! AND FOR THIS POST....OH DEAR...what a place. When I was in Paris, I went to the BOULANGERIE DAILY...for my own boule and I would eat the whole thing. But in France, at least for me, I WALKED SO MUCH,I could not keep on the weight! Dearest, if you send my your address I will get to you ASAP. My email address may not be running this week due to being converted to Google Apps, but I hope I can open the email to see if you responded.
HAVE A GREAT EVENING! BISES, Anita
I'll have an assortment, s'il vous plaît. I know we're going to do so much walking that I'm sure to burn off all the calories.
ReplyDeletelouciao, you are correct, and there seems to be a consensus that we some some of each and will share a buffet. I think that we would need to close this pâtisserie for a private party!
ReplyDeleteSo, today I have learned a new work "craque" and that all of you can be tempted to eat pastries on a Monday. We will walk it off.
Paris Paul, you need not worry that we will not get enough of your bread... I will tell you about my two favorites soon. There is nothing better than eating a Baguette Monge, hot out of the paper wrapping in front of Eric Kayser's in the cold air of December. Of course we buy two more to carry back to the apartment.
Welcome, sadiecarl!
Bises,
Genie
This is a place and an image I will remember!:)
ReplyDeleteCroissant de jambon et frommage, sil vous plait!!! Oh!!! Et un cafe!!! Merci beaucoup!!!
ReplyDeleteJ'adore les patisseries et ta photo
