Il existe une très belle chanson française qui s'appelle "Un gamin de Paris", chantée par Yves Montand. Et ta très belle photo, Genie, illustrerait très bien cette chanson. Bravo!
Beautifully seen. I have been looking back through your photos as I've missed a few days. Each so different but each delightful - compositionally and technically so skilful too.
What a wonderful shot Genie, definitely not ennui, he must be dreaming about something special with that look on his face, the B&W catches all the light and shade in the best way.
oh, genie, this is like a marvelous painting. what a beautiful moment captured. thank you for your thoughts and kind words over these past few days. they've meant so much to me.
Perfect portrait of childhood --- they have a different pace than we do. Whether it is contemplation or ennui, it is delightfully calming! C'est lundi encore --- quelle dommage!
Fantastic capture, Genie! Love the expression on his face! Your shots for the past several days have truly been exceptional and an incredible look into the face of Paris! Hope you have a wonderful week, mon amie!
My WV is "noblesse"—and perhaps he's un petit prince daydreaming of castles other than the ones made of sand. (Or he could just be sleepy, I suppose.) Either way, great shot, Genie!
Many thanks to all for your comments on my little prince, lost in his thoughts in Parc de Monceau. I feel certain that he has no idea what day of the week or season it is.
Pet, we do not have a Métro in Mobile and have very little in the way of public transportation. (sad) However, since I first learned the expression I used, it is one that I say on Monday mornings even though I do not commute except by plane. Merci.
Très beau cliché...
ReplyDeleteBelle journée,

Maybe, it's more "dreaming"..about summer , already gone..
ReplyDeleteHe seems a pensive soul.
ReplyDeleteDreaming of a summer spent, or back to school after his vacation.
Who knows but him?
It's a wonderful shot P....nice work.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Have you got a Metro in Mobile? :-)

ReplyDeleteAh, the innocence of childhood; if only we could reawaken it in later life.
ReplyDeleteThat's a truly beautiful portrait, Genie.
This is a wonderful photo. Good choice to go with B&W with a strong vignette.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful photo in B&W with the shadows.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful portrait. Wish his mother were a reader of your blog to see this.
ReplyDeleteThe boy was thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteI like the photo
A charming photo of a pensive young man. Makes me wonder about his dreams and daydreams. Some US students are back in school already. Harsh!
ReplyDeleteI need to backtrack now to look over your photos; I've been so busy in Santa Fe that I've neglected some of my favorite bloggers.
What a terrific shot! Dreaming about something.....
ReplyDeleteI love that park--all the fun architectural elements PLUS room to play. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteA rather half-hearted attempt at play! HA I think he is still waking up!

Good Monday Morning Genie,
ReplyDeleteI bet there are plenty of kids wishing they were playing in the sand instead of heading off to school. LOL LOL
Hope your week is a happy one.

It is so relaxing for a kid of any age to play in the sand. My girls had a sand box and dug around for hours!. Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful picture. Wonderful photowork.
ReplyDeleteAccording to some French friends, la rentrée has already begun.
ReplyDeleteat Sturday I comes to Paris juhu !!!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm not sure this is "ennui". He looks like a young, modern-day Rimbaud, dreaming in the sandbox.
ReplyDeleteMy WV is "noblesse"—and perhaps he's un petit prince
