L'architecture de Paris
In the streets just north of Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, we stumbled upon this modern building as it reflected the old one just opposite. Although I generally prefer the older buildings, the new structure with its many glass panes serves an artistic function as a reflection device.Bon weekend
Quand l'architecture ancienne se marie ou danse avec l'architecture récente... Une belle union... Une superbe photo que tu as saisi avec talent.
ReplyDeleteGros bisous.
Good evening Genie,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! I love what I see reflecting in the panes...
Your photography is outstanding..
Enjoy your weekend
Penny
This is a very appealing shot, Genie! The treasures are reflected, thank goodness. Merci a toi...et Bon Week-end! (^_^)
ReplyDeleteOh, what a delightful reflection for the day! You always manage to capture the most delightful and marvelous photos! Hope you have a lovely weekend, mon amie! Enjoy!

I agree with you, it is so special to "use" the new to enhance the old.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Genie. A nicely skewed perspective.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having fun in the land of the Mouse.
Beautyful contrast between old and new, one magnifying each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely contrast between the two. It's as if the new member on the block is giving honor to the other.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a great artistic eye Genie. Not everyone would have seen that shot.

That's a fantastic layered look. I love stumbling upon new architecture pieces in Paris--it reminds us how fabulously old everything else is.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection shot. Thank goodness for the use of glass in modern buildings!
ReplyDeleteI agree Genie, and the contrast between old and new is always so fascinating to see. Hope you have a fab weekend Genie.
ReplyDeleteI know this building and have a reflection photo, too! There are many new buildings here reflecting the old, like this one.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Genie. If I didn't have modern buildings to bounce views off, I would have to find a different meme on Fridays. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteSeems we all appreciate the new building mainly for its function as a mirror for the old! Yeah, that's about it.
ReplyDeleteBon weekend, Genie!
C'est très intéressant, Génie.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the picture, I thought, "There's a modern building reflecting an older one." And then you said it. Ah, well.
Like you, I prefer the older buildings. The new ones look like big boxes made of ticky-tacky (to borrow an image from Malvina Reynolds).
It's a great marriage, Genie. Bon weekend.
ReplyDeleteExcellent capture!
ReplyDelete«Louis» (who likes to manger comme une vache) wishes he were in that fabulous food department at Galeries Lafayette!
The beautiful architecture of Paris.
ReplyDeleteInterestind detail that you saw!

Very nice reflection Genie.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Paris and reflections in the same photo always makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteNext week my Weekend Reflections post will be a Paris reflection. :)
I love this kind of shot as well. Lovely.
