Tuileries at Twilight

After the sun retires from the bright summer day, the long shadows of sunset relinquish the park to the soft palette of blues and greens. The park takes on a new persona for the brief time before total darkness, the magical twilight of Paris.

I can close my eyes and see it still

  1. Tu as raison, les beaux monuments de jour prennent un aspect magique à la tombée de la nuit. Comme si les personnages qui les ont cotoyés s'animaient avec eux.

  3. Oh I can still see it too Genie. Aimee and I were almost locked in there one evening, not really but we left so late we were sort of ushered out by the guards, it's just so beautiful there.

  4. My two favorite times of the day: early morning, and twilight. At evening, people seem to try to catch every little minute left from the day, they keep strolling, enjoying, as if night would never come..

  5. Summer months in Paris are marvelous, with the light fading at 10 or 11 at night. Beautiful blues in this photo! xo

  6. J'adore le bleu! What a lovely, soft, muted portrayal of Paris. Makes you just want to find a bench, rest and enjoy the twilight that comes at the end of a glorious summer day. Bon weekend!

  14. When the picture is embiggened, many folks are shown just sitting contentedly around the pool. It seems like a time of day just to relax and savor the special environment.

  16. Thank you, my dear friends. I am away but reading your comments daily. I will return home tomorrow with the help of Delta (please) and will visit your blogs. Virginia, we were all together here last June and sat in the green chairs at the edge of the pool, just taking it all in. Wish I was there right now and we could visit with Starman, too!
