I'm not sure Genie, but I think Wisteria is a Spring flowering plant, am I right? The couple people watching seem to be dressed for the middle of Winter haha!
It looks as if they both need to rest regularly during their walks. But what wonderful role models they are for the rest of us. I'm thinking April/May for the wisteria.
Late spring or early summer? The wisteria gives the scene a softness to it. The couple look like they need o rest; the terrain must be challenging for anyone with canes or of a certain age. Have a joyous weekend!
Sylvia -- Merci, mon amie and enjoy your weekend also!
Joe -- I am warming to Montmartre and its intrigue as I discover little scenes like this
Shell -- Merci, mon amie... I love the wisteria also
Cezar -- It was a bit cool in the shade but not nearly as cold as the coats would have you believe
Grace -- Exactly! But I think that we see that over-dressing even in the summer
brattcat -- Paris is not a place for the handicapped and I know that these two are glad that they can keep on walking (and resting) -- It was taken mid-April
Kate -- Yes, the terrain is a challenge with the hills and uneven sidewalks... The wisteria dresses up this fence for spring through fall
Marie -- Indeed, and we did some of that plus lots of walking
Virginia -- Yes, I think so. I wonder how I would feel if there were tourists where I live snapping shots of everyday life
AA -- For someone who knows Paris as you do it might be an easy mark
Amanda -- Yes, and you can't tell that from their overcoats
Malyss -- Beautifully said, my poetic friend. Merci
martine -- Tes mots sont si doux en français... merci, mon amie.
Just beautiful.. I love people shots.. Makes you wonder what kind of life they have lived.. This women looks very deep in thought. Thank you for sharing.. Penny
No, all Parisians are not thin blooded. In winter, you will see people wearing only T-shirts. As I stated above, you'll never determine the season by what the French are wearing.
What a perfect capture, Genie! You do show the beauty, the interesting views of Paris and I always look forward to your posts! Enjoy your weekend!

My memory of Montmarte is hills and intrigue. Best to take advantage of a rest stop when you can.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely scene, Genie, and that wisteria is so gracious.
ReplyDeleteSeemed like a cool sunny day, love those!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

ReplyDeleteAaahhhh .... April in Paris! I think I would be most content perched on the edge of the wall and watching thebpeople go by.
ReplyDeleteThis proves what I"ve observed. Even in the heat, the Parisians are dressed for fall or winter. What's the deal?
ReplyDeleteAnd this mad me chuckle. I guess Parisians enjoy people watching the tourists the same way we enjoy watching them? :)

I'm pretty sure I know that house--the flowers give it away! lovely!
ReplyDeletece n'est pas l'hiver!
ReplyDeleteOld people are often cold, no matter what the season is.. I'd say

Great composition Genie but why are they wrapped up so..... Was it really that cold?
ReplyDeleteValery -- Since Paris... I am not the same either. Thank you for your comments... merci.
ReplyDeletePicturit -- I think that people in France are just colder and need scarves and jackets in all seasons. No, it was not that cold and was a sunny day.
Wow! I actually have a friend who can use the word "quotidienne." I thought the biggest word my friends knew was "hamburger."
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I were there! Vanna

If you try to figure out the season by the way people are dressed in Paris, you will most likely go mad.

I was thinking what V said. Are all Parisians thin-blooded or something? As for people-watching, these folks were clearly watching you!
