Parisians have not seen the dark storm clouds of rain in several weeks and there is a drought concern across France. Not wishing to rain on anyone's vacation but a few serious showers might improve the situation.
What a very lovely Paris scene Genie, but those clouds do look very menacing! Oh my we have so much rain in the last few days here in Perth, but we are loving it and hope that our dams are filling up. Best wishes Grace
Praying for rain to nourish and quench all of those wonderful crops and precious farm animals! We must have all of our delicious French fruits, vegetables, wines & cheeses!
I was going to say I like storms.. and then Tuscaloosa and Joplin came to mind :( But we need a balance of rain and shine. In Paris I just pull out my rain gear and keep on going..Hopefully they got their needed shower.nice shot!
That's all we get here, too -- just clouds, no rain. But for some reason (je ne comprenez) those clouds look so much better over Paris in your photo than over Katy, Texas! Love the brightness of the white building and the colors of the cafe in contrast with the dark gray clouds.
Dark clouds almost always make a great back drop. I'll do a rain dance for France and us. I've been away from my computer for several days. You've shown some of your best photography skills while I was away.
That contrast of light and dark is stunning! I nearly gasped upon seeing this picture. I hope you got more of this moment, for the walls seem to breath.
another incredible photograph! what a joy! i wish we could send some of our storm clouds their way...it just started to dry out a bit here! beautiful as always genie!
So great to meet you here, Genie. Paris is a love of mine too. In fact I have a photo so similar to this one that it is uncanny, red awning, approaching storm and all! It really is awful how they haven't had rain in the whole month of May.
Beautiful but ominous sky, Genie. A winner! I have been reading French bloggers' worries about the absence of rain for weeks. I hope they get a good cloudburst or two before long.
Another fabulous photo, Genie. And while a dry France cannot get along on wine alone, the much-needed showers will do little for those with a dry sense of humour. Gros bisous!
Strange weather we're having across the globe...massive tornadoes from California to Massachusetts, severe drought from Texas to Europe. I've been reading other blogs from France and it is a topic of concern.
Great photograph!! I adore what such a creative behavior has accomplished!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo! You can really feel the imminent rain shower.
ReplyDeleteYes we don't see of this either here the last months. The lack of rain is becoming it bit precair for our dikes.
ReplyDeleteOh la la, c'est la tempête!
ReplyDeleteAwesome capture!

Those clouds look ominous.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the light those clouds produce. Great shot.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot Genie. I can smell the rain and soon the umbrellas will all come out. What are the French without their umbrellas.

ReplyDeleteThe sky is indeed ominous, but a little rain during a drought is always welcome. The red awning certainly does perk things up, doesn't it?!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pic-give me sense of being there

ReplyDeleteNice capture. I just got caught in a downpour from a cloud like that coming out of the subway.

I love this kind of clouds! They give a special mood to landscapes..
ReplyDeleteTrès belle photo.
ReplyDeleteIl est vrai que la sécheresse qui nous touche est préoccupante...
Bonne journée,

ReplyDeleteWhat a shot! Definately not the kind of clouds to hang around. The safest course of action is to find the nearest cafe/bar and wait out the storm!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of those skies! Let it rain!
ReplyDeleteHow about I pack up some of our May snow here and send it on over???
ReplyDeleteDo take a look at the weather sign on my blog....
ReplyDeleteRain-rain go away.
Love the light AND the atmosphere in your image.
There seems to be a lot of drought in Europe this spring. Ironically, we are having some rain here this year.
ReplyDeleteThe dark threatening sky, the brilliant white building, and that touch of red—you've captured it all perfectly!
ReplyDeleteLove the dark clouds above, yet the sun still looks like its shining on the café. Great atmosphere and a perfect capture of Paris! I love this!

ReplyDeleteEven in dark clouds the city is just so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy comment seems to have disappeared. Ah well, it wasn't much anyway.
