Petit Piano Rouge

A little red piano for smallest of musicians, seen in the window of a shop on Boulevard Beaumarchais. Not just any music shop but a megastore specializing in instruments of all types, importing the first Gibson guitars to France. Established in 1850, Beuscher has a client list of French musicians and others from around the world (Prince, Michael Polnareff, Sophie Marceau, Charles Aznavour, Nino Ferrer).

True to the style of Paris windows, the colorful instruments adorn almost an entire block with bright colored guitars, shiny trumpets, ebony pianos, a plethera of sheet music...

Yes, even a little red piano

Paul Beuscher Bastille (since 1850)
15-27, boulevard Beaumarchais

  6. What a lovely rouge piano Genie. With such a short keyboard, I wonder what it's purpose is, other than being THE most attractive member of the group.

  7. Can't you just imagine a four year old Elton John-type seated here?

  8. Black, white and red -- eye-catching combination of colors! I imagine the repertoire is somewhat limited on this piano -- still, who cares, it's lovely.

  11. Well, it is fun and colorful even if too small for anyone to use. You find the most interesting things. Even though I am not a musician, I would have wandered all over this store.

    Have a great weekend.

  23. My first thought was that Virginia will love this, and I see I was right! Maybe a grown-up version would be good for sitting at while singing torch songs. (You do have an amazing eye, my friend!)

  24. Believe me, Virginia, we thought of you when we saw this -- red pianos and a red storefront! This is the "medium" sized, red piano. There was a teeny one with 1 1/2 octaves in another window of this huge store and then a full-sized upright in yet another! If I could have figured out how to bring it home, I would have bought the tiny (50E) one ... for my future granddaughter (my daugher, the mommy-to-be is a pianist and I'm hoping the talent gets passed down)! But I laugh just thinking of Genie's face had I trudged everywhere we went that day with a tiny red piano under my arm!! Genie, I love the way you caught the reflection -- it gives it an ethereal look!!

Paris rouge je t'aime bien sur!!!

  30. Pierre -- Je crois que oui... merci!

    megi -- Merci, mon amie...

Vreni -- I think that there may have even been a pink one!

jenny -- Yes, I can be a bit quirky at times... so glad you like!

biebkriebels -- I do not think that there are many tunes that could be played but it is cute... merci

Dianne -- Merci, I think that I would like a larger one but I like the red!

Brittany -- I think a little child would love a red one!

Sam -- We had a small one when I was very small and it did not allow for much playing, but cute

brattcat -- Too funny! I think that they had a purple one too!

Stan -- Very limited, mon ami! Merci

Suz -- I am glad that the artist finds something here to make her smile... merci!

    AA -- Moi aussi!

Jack -- When I looked online at the store I saw that they have an abundance of sheet music for all kinds of instruments... Jazz piano for children caught my eye

kathrin -- Wishing you a wonderful weekend, mon amie!

Malyss -- Anything that can be played in 2.5 octaves - hah!

texwisgirl -- Glad you like it and many thanks for leaving me a comment!

Sylvia -- Sun? We have lots of that and it is almost getting to warm!

Rajesh -- Merci, and nice that you stopped by to leave a comment... come often!

Barbara -- Yes, and we were so intent on pâtisseries that we did not go in. I could not take this little number home, but I could get some sheet music... Hey, there are no language issues with music!

  31. Picturit -- Yes, this size sounds a little "plunky" but it is not as loud as a full-sized piano. For a little one, it saves wear and tear on the family piano!

Kim -- Yes, I would bet that during the holidays many of these are sold... merci!

Starman -- Love that idea and I have not seen them in Paris... you will have to let me know how they are

Jilly -- Something for even the youngest little genius, merci!

Virginia -- Yes, we knew you would like it... If I could have gotten it home I would put it in my office/studio

Alexa -- Merci, mon amie... I think of red as the "new black" - hah!

Marie -- Now, I might have taken a photo of that! What a fun day that was!

    Kay -- Merci, mon amie

Greyscale -- Wouldn't it be fun to have an assortment of these in bright colors!

Mickie -- My thoughts exactly! Wishing you a great weekend also...

Dianne -- I like your idea... A trip with you to Paris is something she would never forget.

Rob -- Okay, that is sooooo cool! merci, mes amis

  32. How adorable! I want one, honestly my husband couldn't complain it took up too much room like the old upright grand I use to have.
