Ohhhhhh, this is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The blue, the wrought iron!!! Do you remember where it is exactly? I´m SO looking forward to find beautiful blue doors in July!
I read somewhere that the government (it wasn't clear whether it was city or state government) is making an effort to change the Marais. It has been my experience that this is rarely a good thing. I hope they don't destroy the integrity of the village. How lucky you were to just miss the latest stupid strike in Paris.
megi -- C'est vrai et il y'a beaucoup de Paris rouge bien-sur, et aussi beaucoup de noir et blanc, mais je vais vous faire decouvrir Paris bleu de temps en temps. Merci!
Richard -- Je n'ai pas les noté... Merci, mon ami!
Loulou -- Moi aussi... I think that your area of France has lovely colors with much blue as well, n'est-ce pas.
Ann -- There is much history in these doors... If they could only talk
Vreni -- I will check on the address when I get home... This photo was for "you!"
beau gosse -- Nous sommes d'accord!
Brattcat -- Merci, mon amie
Grace -- So glad to hear you are enjoying blue skies and that you like this.
Halcyon -- I am enjoying blue skies in Michigan today, too!
AA -- The detail found on doors is so much more interesting than one can find at Lowes - hahahaha!
rosaria -- Merci, and you also
Alexa -- Merci, mon amie
Starman -- I am with you on this one.
Loree -- Living in your island country with its mysteries and secrets... I agree!
Amanda -- I do not know.... more research needed so I must go back (hehe)
Anni -- I wish I was there too and we could hunt down all the blue doors in Paris... of course, we would be stopping at patisseries along the way
biebkriebels -- Love the cool, clear blue skies of spring
Hello, just found your blog this morning and SO glad I did! Looking at it brings back so many memories of my first trip to Paris. I am a new follower and invite you to visit my blog.
Doors are endlessly fascinating...in many cities throughout the world; some of my favorites are Georgetown, DC, Santa Fe (of course) and Mazatlán, México (of course). Love both the blue and the iron work on this one.
Bonjour,
ReplyDeleteI'm a great lover of blue doors and blue shutters. This is a lovely one!
ReplyDeleteTHat is one lovely blue door,
ReplyDeletewith great details and it looks like it has quite a few history of its own too.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThank you Genie, that is one beautiful door, and yes the skies in Perth were so very blue today.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Grace
My skies were looking blue earlier this morning, but now have turned a bit gray. :(
ReplyDeleteLove this door though. So many great things to photograph in Paris.
Beautiful detail in those gorgeous doors!
ReplyDeleteNever realized Paris had an abundance of blue doors...I always think of Greece when I think of blue doors!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Have a perfect Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of les portes bleus de Paris—and this one's a beauty! Merci bien.

ReplyDeleteI always find doors to be so intruiging because I always wonder who lives behind a particulat door.
ReplyDeletei didn't know there was an abundance of blue doors in paris - i wonder what the significance is of that?
ReplyDeletelovely entryway. just want to open the door and walk right in......
i am looking for this one particular blue door but have not found it yet !
ReplyDeleteUn bonjour de Paris ;-)
We have those blue skies for ever here I think. At least for 3 weeks now. Love the door and the iron work in it.

This one benefits from some wear and fading. The metalwork is what catches my interest, even more than the blue of the door.
ReplyDeletebeautiful. That's a perfect grey/blue and so gorgeous with the metal work (I think it's metal?) in the windows. Love the Marais!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, there is a lot of blue! (I suppose that is where the phrase French Blue comes from? ha).
