This works so well with the green chairs and that lovely long view behind. Gulls are always fascinating to photograph - I put one on Monte Carlo DP yesterday, so snap!
Oh this picture brings back great memories. Aimee had her first 'escargot' in one of the little cafe's in the Jardin des Tuilleries and we stayed in The Hotel Regina which had a view of the gardens and the Louvre from our window. How I would love to be there again.
What a delightful capture, Genie! I'd love to be sitting in one of those chairs right now, having a meaningful conversation with Sir Gull! Hope your week has gone well!

ReplyDeleteI remember my first visit to Paris and seeing these gorgeous chairs filled with Parisiens just enjoying the day - it was and is superb. x
ReplyDeleteI was only there 4 weeks ago. My heart aches for the place. Oh to sit in those green chairs again. A-M xx
ReplyDeleteThis stirred up so much excitement to me - I AM COMING TO PARIS IN OCTOBER!!!!!! (and already giddy about it!)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet ~ enjoying a little quiet time before heading home to the family.
ReplyDeleteYou really feel the end of the day atmosphere! ... but before the "tomorrow", there may hopefully be some other later night pleasures!
ReplyDeleteGenie it looks as if he's doing a dance step - I love it! My photos of this spot are all filled with people, it's nice to see it empty..

ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories Genie
Grace
Nicely done, Genie. Your narrow depth of field is good here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Genie, love the composition!
ReplyDeletethe maurice chevalier of seagulls, i think.
ReplyDeleteHi Genie ~I think that lone seagull looks lost - maybe all her friends left the party and she is left looking a little bewildered among the green.
ReplyDeleteI love those green chairs. I'd sit there all day if I lived in Paris! And look how you captured that gull with his leg crossed!

I like a lot this shot, beautiful composition with the green chairs and the lovely gull!

Well, that's a jaunty-looking bird—a real "flaneur"!
ReplyDeleteI knew it was les Tuileries as soon as I saw the chairs.
ReplyDeleteGood for him to be the last to leave - he is now famous on the www :)
ReplyDeleteThe party's over, time to call it a day. . . .
ReplyDeleteOh won't you stay ... Just a little bit longer ... I will party all night long!
ReplyDeleteJilly -- I love the green chairs too and would love to sit there watching Mr. Gull. Your gull is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSuzi -- and soon you are there!
A-M -- We are kindred spirits and I wish we had met!
Diane -- I cannot wait to hear all that you do ... et avec des photos!
Shell -- Unless he was just getting ready to party...
Peter -- Bien-sur!
Kelley -- It was very quiet... dance step! Too funny, perhaps "shuffle off to Buffalo"
Grace -- That must have been a wonderful trip filled with a lifetime of memories
Jack -- Merci, mon ami
Carol -- Merci... almost like a painting - hah!
Dianne -- It is odd to find a lone gull
Virginia -- Merci... it is so hard to get them to pose like that!
Leia -- Merci, mon amie!
Sylvia -- Merci, and I hope that yours has been good as well. I am looking forward to getting home tomorrow night
Alexa -- They always look so inquisitive and this guy was walking "the edge"
Starman -- They are instantly recognizable
Loree -- Maybe when I return I'll bring him a print of this portrait - hah!
Bear -- He was just before tucking it in for the night
ReplyDeleteMarie -- We sure tried to party all night and all day! Love that song!
What a wonderful capture Genie! I think he crossed his leg for the shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful spot to spend a summer afternoon with a bit of wine, a few friends, and a sunset!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's one smart bird. The Jardin des Tuileries is a great place to relax.
ReplyDeleteSuperbe !
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup...
Pierre
J´adore ces chaises! They are SO PARIS! I love to sit on one of them near the Jeu de Paume with a view of the Eiffel Tower.
