On a cold, gloomy day like today, she is a breath of spring ... the roses in her hair and scarf ... and the dreamy look in her eyes as if she's thinking of her young man. Lovely photo, Genie.
Bibi -- I love seeing details like this on buildings... you are fortunate
Andy -- Yes, but I am always amazed at the ones that "got away" or that I thought about later... I have dreams about them
Dianne -- She also looks so "clean" and not soiled by the atmosphere and birds
Miss Sadie -- There is a wistful look in her eyes... Perhaps she is gazing at a friend across the street or remembering better days
Kristin -- I took several photos of this building and loved this shot for the lace-edged Roman shades in the window.
Kris -- She does look wise and knowing
Shell -- You noticed the "pristine" also... It is difficult to maintain buildings in this manner
Marie -- Wouldn't you love to know the story behind her... Whose model she was, whose daughter, mother, wife...
Virginia -- Lucky indeed! How lucky to have that apartment window and to glance at her every day
Tammy -- I smile just thinking about it and feel a little wistful as well
Birdman -- Looking up but aware of looking down so that you do not step in something you would rather not...
Léia -- The reflections do keep it from appearing to be a dark hole... So glad that you like this one, mon amie.
Cynthia -- Well I am envious that you have one... I guess that I could put one over my door but it would look out of context and pretty silly -- have you posted a photo?
Jack -- Merci, mon ami... This one is rich in detail
Halcyon -- In some places you see them every few steps and in others you must really hunt
Alexa -- Well, your French friend should say that it is her... It could be a relative... Merci, I will continue to look both high and low, and under/over and around - hah!
Amanda -- How cool... That reminds me that I have a clay mask I made from my face and it sits on a ledge near my desk... Thankfully, the eyes are closed -- Merci
Loree -- For many of them, "up" is too far up to get a great photo... This lady was quite photogenic
biebkriebels -- I would much prefer her on my building, but some of those gargoyles are interesting
She has many sisters here in Belgrade; this was for sure a popular style.
ReplyDeleteNice piece of art work. Genie, your eyes must must always be on the move exploring the scene thoroughly for something worth photograph.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she so serene and I love the pretty roses under chin - Thanks for looking up.
ReplyDeleteMy sense is that she doesn't see us at all; she is looking way above us, "over-looking" us "mere mortals."
ReplyDeleteAn interesting, through troubling, picture.

On my former blog , I had a label "stone faces" , to show such statues;I like them very much, they are discreet but often very beautyful!

Art is just everywhere there! I love all the details.
ReplyDeleteCildemer -- Merci, mon amie.
ReplyDeleteRandy -- The art itself is visual overload at times... we could make a book on just the faces on buildings...
Streetwalking? In Paris? You?
ReplyDeleteYou have eyes for beautiful details!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!:)
You have a lovely blog! I'm your new follower since I found you over at Beatrice Banks' blog today.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to tell if that is hair on her forehead, or wrinkles.
