Great shot of the ordinary, which is rather extraordinary. Next sewing project begins with phase two of sewing class starting in a couple of weeks, another skirt with zipper and darts. Have a lovely day, dear little Genie in the blogger's bottle of beauty ~ xox Alexandra
I like the mood of this picture: the special light, the man that is obviously tired by his work and needing this little moment of peace, the asiatic man working in Paris..a good departure for a writing class, a lot of tales to imagine..
Like Ciel, I know all about how people feel about the smoking/cooking chef! But what the hey? He makes a terrific subject for a great photo! I love France, I love the French and I loved every minute that I was able to be there. And unlike what you hear a lot of Americans complain about, everyone treated my husband and I in the very best, welcoming, helpful and fun way! Now who asked me to get on my soap box????? But I do love France! Hope you have a great week!
ciel -- Yeah, that is a bit yucky... glad that you like the shot!
Lala -- Bonne semaine à toi, Lala! It seemed to look better in b/w, merci....
Sylvia -- You make me laugh, my friend, and I totally understand your sentiments... I love Paris and all of France... I love the French, the language, the countryside, the cities, the children, the rivers... well, you get the idea.
EG -- Merci, my friend!
Deborah -- Oh my... I have now discovered your blog and your post about Richard... Merci, mon amie!
Sad that it's almost tomorrow and I'm only getting here now! I think maybe this guy's job is as stressful as mine. At first I wondered what he was thinking about—then decided the answer is . . . nothing! Good capture, Genie—and perfect in b&w.
I like the typical moment you captured, Genie. For this cook, it was probably a moment like many on a day like many, but your capture now makes it special.
I like this photo. It seems very quiet.
ReplyDeleteGood pic.
ReplyDeleteBut I think a couple of people at a table, with tea and croissants, would be even more delightful. Lovers, perhaps.
It gently rained a bit when I was in Paris recently; didn't mind at all....and I sneaked some shots, too.
ReplyDeleteI like this 'quiet thought' photo.
Moi, je pense qu'il guettait un chien ou un chat pour préparer le déjeuner... :-)
ReplyDeleteBon début de semaine, Genie!
I like a lot this kind of picture showing "life in the city", and this one is wonderful, I love it in b&w.
ReplyDeleteHugs
and a lovely Monday,
Léia
I think he needed the break Genie ~ looks a tad stressed. It's amazing how the camera shows the emotions on a face.

Sara Louise -- Merci... The street was active with people but I was able to capture him alone..
ReplyDeleteMiss Sadie -- I will find a few of those types for you... merci!
Richard -- hehe... Tu est trè attentif... mais je ne pense pas que ce soit vrai.
Léia -- Merci, mon amie... I had to snap and go on this one as it was lightly raining! A wonderful Monday to you both (and Luna)
Bibi -- I'm with you... a little rain in Paris is great for the atmosphere!
Dianne -- He might be a bit stressed if you believe what Richard said... hummmm Merci!
I came from Rob-Bear, Miss Sadie's blog to say bonjour.
ReplyDeleteNice portrait.

ReplyDeleteStealing a moment to relax. Thinking about how hot it must be inside the kitchen.

ReplyDeleteBlack and white is perfect for this photo.
ReplyDeleteAnother great shot. It speaks volumes about reality and the city life.

Malyss -- Merci... I like being able to produce thought-provoking photos - yay!
Kate -- Thanks, I was undecided until I looked at it in b/w... I had a tighter crop but V said she liked this one better...
Jacqueline -- Merci, mon amie... I would love to spend weeks and weeks finding moments like this one.
biebkriebels -- Merci... and I understand that you have had more than your share of rain lately (smile)

ReplyDeleteHalcyon -- Agreed, and hope you will give us an update on your transition...
ReplyDeleteRandy -- Merci, mon ami.
Jack -- He just seemed like a frame from an old b/w dubbed movie... glad that you like it, Jack
Love this photo. You want to know what he's thinking? Of his wife, his children, where he came from originally - perhaps.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that pic ! I've been away for a few days... I missed your blog, Genie ! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Genie!!! I love it in B&W!
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of shot! We would have a great time shooting Paris that's for sure!
