Paris Bistrot -- Après déjeuner?
Bistrot Richelieu's cheerful terrasse is sheltered from the street buy a wood screen of the type often seen in Paris. Although there were no people enjoying the warmth of the café heaters, it appeared that there had been some serious wine consumption as noted by the empty bottles.Bistrot Richelieu
45, rue de RichelieuTammy at Beatrice Banks has so kindly honored me on her beautiful blog. Please hop over and say "bonjour" to this dear friend. Merci!
It's just a little nook but oh! so Parisian. Definitely appears to have been some serious red wine consumption happening here
ReplyDeleteoh c est bien, bon journee, bise Kathrin
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a beautifully French scene. Even the necks of the wine bottles are co-ordinated...
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup ces petites nappes à carreaux, typiques de Paris et encore davantage de Montmartre. On pourrait sentir la présence proche d'Aristide Bruant...
ReplyDeleteYears ago I had the same table cloth and even the curtains like that in the kitchen, and wine probably too, lol !
ReplyDeleteNice capture Genie. It looks like someone has a hangover.
ReplyDeleteI love the little wood basket! a lot of bottles surely means a good time between friends!
ReplyDeleteI love the chairs and the table-cloth, they are so typical for Paris!
ReplyDeleteSo Parisian! I love it!!! (you know what that means):)
ReplyDeleteDianne -- Definitely consumption, but not by us on this particular day... hah!
ReplyDeleteKathrin -- Bonne journée à toi aussi, mon amie... merci!
Shell -- Hah! I had not noticed that little detail... you have good eyes, my friend
Richard -- Ah oui, Montmartre a beaucoup de nappes comme ci... Merci!
Gattina -- But probably not ALL this much wine, hehe
Andy -- Perhaps, but not me... I do believe that French wine is much easier to sip
Malyss -- I do also and you can even see it on Google Maps!
Vreni -- The nappes are well-recognized as "Paris" and the chairs are a relatively new addition for this bistrot
Carol -- Oh, wonderful! It took me a moment and then it came to me... Je compris (I understand)
Oh Wine, looks like some people had a great lunch ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like my kind of lunch!
ReplyDeleteLove those chairs! Thanks for the shout out. My post seems to be a big hit. People love Paris and you do a fantastic job showcasing it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I might have been there earlier to help with those bottles. ha!
ReplyDeleteWould that we had imbibed some of that wine in such a quaint location! Great feature in Tammy's blog!! Bises, ma chere.
ReplyDeleteHope they weren't going back to work after that lunch. Time for a nice nap, I say. But oh so Parisian, this shot!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a comfy spot to sit and enjoy wine and conversation.
ReplyDeleteWe thought they would last all week, but....
ReplyDeleteLooks you Peter, Mary, Marie and of course moi et toi had just gathered our cameras and headed off! :)
ReplyDeleteBonjour Genie,
ReplyDeleteI saw your interview over at Beatrice Banks, so I hopped over to see what you had on your blog. Your blog is truly delightful! Je t'adour seeing your beautiful photographs and the lovely sights of Paris.
Have a lovely day,
Au revoir,
Cindy
(I hope my little bit of French wasn't too incorrect, I did take French in High School here in Canada it was required, but that was a looooooong time ago.
Genie ! Did you drink all the wine ?!? It's a wonder you could stumble home and type up this blog post ! And no typos even... You must be quite resilient...
ReplyDelete:-)
Cynthia -- Yes, but they must have scampered away!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth -- Indeed! It would certainly have been enjoyable
Tammy -- And you, my dear, did a fabulous job of telling my story. Merci, ma chère!
Birdman -- We could have had quite the soirée with plenty of friends in Paris!
Marie -- Put it on "the list" because they had a nice rating overall...
Alexa -- Yes, I could get into the swing of that lifestyle although it is probably only the tourists who consume bottles (plural) of wine during lunch and then head home to take a nap... Please correct me on this if you know better during the time you lived there... Merci, mon amie
EG -- It is close to our apartment and would be a great spot in slightly warmer weather, although I would bet that the inside is just fine as well
Starman -- Hah! I do not think so!
Virginia -- Absolutely and we were dragging Janeen and Holly along with us!
Cindy -- So glad that you popped in here, and I am not qualified to correct anyone's French - hah! I hope that you will be here often to enjoy the views and beauty of Paris
Owen -- No, but Virginia did! (jk) I wish that I had had that opportunity today but this was taken in December... One pleasure of photography is re-living the experiences... Nice to see you here, mon ami!
It's a beautiful composition!
ReplyDeleteLéia
So french! So inviting!
ReplyDeleteBring on the bread and the Brie!
ReplyDeleteThis looks very French.... to me!:)
ReplyDeleteLéia -- And it has a good rating for its food as well
ReplyDeleteNina -- Merci, mon amie
Randy -- Well, we had better order another bottle or two since these are all empty - hah!
Gunn -- Tablecloths, café chairs, terrasse, bucket of empty wine bottles... yep, French all right!
