With all the sweets and treats of the holidays, I have promised myself to eat more vegetables and foods that are healthy. Somehow, as lovely as these mushrooms look, I think that they might be marzipan... Does that still count as a vegetable? (miam-miam)

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for your visit
:)

I love marzipan and all the wonderful 'veggies' that the French make out of it.
ReplyDeletedoes it matter ?? :) I love the look of these - perfect
ReplyDeleteOmelette aux champignons, peut-être?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your promise Genie! I would find it difficult surrounded by such beautiful food. And if you want, we can all pretend they count :)
ReplyDeleteQuand les champignons sont comme ça, je suis prête à partager le régime! :))
ReplyDeleteMiam-miam! Bet the little boys would eat these "veggies"!
ReplyDeleteI bet they look better than they taste because they really look good. The French are so creative with food.
ReplyDelete. . . and of course the red 'mushrooms' with white spots would be seriously poisonous if like those popping up in our yard in Vancouver.
ReplyDeletelorsqu'il sont aussi rouges il faut se méfier
ReplyDeletec'était "dont" dans ton commentaire
they look great...love the pictures in your blog..always beautiful
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by mine...
cheers
Yes I think they are marzipan. What a wonderful veggie treat.
ReplyDeleteSorry, no vegetable, but quite delicious.
ReplyDeleteMarzipan ! My "peché mignon", together with chocolate and "fruits confits" !
ReplyDeleteMarzipan are really "the" Christmas candies for me.
how could one eat such a lovely thing?
ReplyDelete(somehow, i think i could manage however ;-)
Bhupesh -- Merci, and please visit again!
ReplyDeleteBibi -- I do not get marzipan very often but I wonder if I might learn to make it? Surely it is not harder than mastering macarons?
Suzi -- I think that I could really get into veggies like this, n'est-ce pas?
Bear -- Let's skip the omelette and take these champignons!
Brittany -- Actually I do love vegetables but it was easy to be pursuaded during the holidays to veer onto the path of sweets
Holly -- Brooks would definitely love these!
James -- Well, I am going to try one on my next trip. The only thing that I have bought in a Paris pâtisserie that I did not care for was a hard meringue. It was beautiful though
Evan -- Now, I have seen photos but never one in the wild. The color is so vivid but of course we would not eat that one.
Bergson -- Merci pour la mise en garde et pour l'aide avec la grammaire.
Debbie -- Merci, mon amie!
Loree -- I do believe that I could not eat more than one as they are probably quite rich, but pretty!
Starman -- Agreed!
o2 -- You have convinced me that I will definitely try some of these on my next trip to Paris. I have also seen them in Italy (Milan?) and they almost looked like toys they were so perfect. I do hope that you were able to have some of these for Christmas!
Amanda -- I am finding it easier to resist now that I am through with the "feeding frenzy" that was Christmas - hah!
ReplyDeleteCan't abide mushrooms, but these are a champignon of an altogether different color. Miam is right!
ReplyDeleteAlexa -- I think that you should start on these right away!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely these little delicacies qualify...take your veggies anyway that you can get them. Lovely looking mushrooms!
ReplyDeleteI hear you. I had the same promise and then a cake just somehow appeared before me and it was all over. Wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteGo for it, kid. No one is looking.
ReplyDeleteIt gave a fabulous subject, this picture is outstanding!
ReplyDeleteLéia
