Officially known as the square Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet
but better
known as Parc de la Turlure,
this is a small but charming park in Montmartre,
located right behind the Sacré-Coeur Basilica.
This site was once occupied by the
moulin de Turlure,
one of more than 30 windmills that once stood on Butte
Montmartre.
The park has a beautiful pergola and this cascade fountain

Great shot, Genie! And I think you'll be glad to know that they've removed the graffiti that was somehow placed behind this little waterfall.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be a french child and resist the low temperature of water for taking a walk all the way long under this cascade, yes of course, with my arms open like a equilibrist. It's possible "to listen" the water and "to feel" the warmth of the sun. Beautiful photo: perspective, backlit and motion. Thank you Genie for this happy "bath".
ReplyDeleteA nice cascade fountain. Especially when the sun is shining.
ReplyDeleteNeeds a windmill, I think. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, G, for the info. We never made it to this area, unfortunately. Next time, I hope. Looks like a wonderful park!
ReplyDeleteVery pleasant, Genie!
ReplyDeleteAlexa, that is good to hear as the graffiti was a distraction.
ReplyDeleteDanar, I am sure that you would not be the first to walk under this waterfall. It was tempting.
Revrunner, I think that there is only one real windmill left in Montmartre, but I do not know that for a fact.
Lowell, I hope that you will put this on your list. Although it is very close to Place du Tertre, it seems to be a world removed from the rush of crowds.
Bises,
Genie
